In the name of God amen, The second day of June in the yeare of our Lord God 1636. I Robert Chambers of Swaffham Priory in the Countie of Cambridge gent being of good and in pefect remembrance pray for to almighty God therefore our King and hereby making utterly voyd all and every other former wills and bequeaths by me heretofore made ? ? or in writing do and make and ordaine this my last will and testament in manner and forme following Ffirst and before all things I remand and remitt my soule into the hands of Almighty God my maker ? thorough the mercies of Jesus Christ my Saviour and redeemer to be made ? of life everlasting And my body I comitt to the earth of which it was made to be informed in Christian burial by the appointment of my executrix hereunder named ITEM I give and devise unto Elizabeth my beloved wife all and singular my messuages landes house and groundes ? and ? ? ? and being both coppie and freehould with all and singular their ? tenances To have and to hould to her the said Elizabeth and her assignes during the whole forme of her naturall life of the said Elizabeth shee paying out of the same the some of ten pounds of lawfull money of England yearly unto my brother Sammuell Chambers and unto Robert Chambers his sonne in manner and form following that is to say to either of them five poundes appease yearly and every year during the whole forme of the naturall life of the said Elizabeth quarterly to be paid unto them by ? and equal ? The first payment to begin and be payed unto them three months next after my decease And will and meaning is that presently adter the decease of the said Elizabeth my said wife all the afore said messuages landes beonemende and groundes no the their appursonance shall remaine and be unto the said Robert Chambers the same To have and to hould the same unto the said Robert Chambers and to his heirs male of his body lawfully to be begotten forever And for want of heir male of the said Robert Chambers Then I will and my meaning is that Richard Chambers the brother of the said Robert shall have and hould all the aforesaid messuages landes tenements and grounds with their appurtenance to him the said Richard and to his heirs male of his body lawfully to be begotten forever And for want of his heirs male of the said Richard then I will and my meaning is that Henry Chambers and other brother of the said Robert shall have and hould all the said messuages land tentes and groundes with the appurtanences to him the said Henry and to his heirs forever. ITEM I give and bequeath unto every one of the children of the said Sammuell Chambers my brother ten pounds a year of lawfull money of England to be payed unto them when they shall uttayne their several ages of one and twenties years And if it shall happen any of the said children to ? this mortall life before they shall attaine the said age of one and twentie yeares That then I will and my meaning is that their legacie aforesaid shall be equally divided to and amongst the survivor or survivors of the rest of the said children ITEM I give and bequeath to every one of the children of Anne Ratford ? the wife of William Ratford of ?otten five pounds a yeare of lawfull money of England to be payed unto them t their ? ages of one and twentie yeares ITEM I give and bequeath unto Mary Wollward and to Robert Woolward her husband of Westnorating to either them five shillings a yeare ITEM I give and bequeath unto Jane Twiste ten poundes a yeare of lawfull money of England to be payed unto them whom they shall attaine their severall age of one and twentie years* ITEM I give and bequeath unto Richard Stallon of Burrall five shillings And to every of the children of the said Richard five pounds a yeare of lawfull money of England to be payed unto them when they shall attayne their ? age of one and twentie yeares; All the rest of my goods and estate whatsoever ? after my debts ? all exppences the charges of proving this my last will and testament and all the aforesaid legacies being payed and discharged I wholly five unto the said Elizabeth my wife whome I make sole executrix of this my last will and testament provided always that it shall happen my wife to be with childe at the tyme of my death ? I will and my meaning is that all my former guilts and bequests here before ? shall be utterly voyd and of none effect ? my wife her ginst and legacies ? any thing herein confayed to the contrary hereof not withstanding their words by ? ? Barwell being first ? read sealed and declared to be my last will and testament of Robert Chambers In the presence of John Harrison and William Sarson.
