Swaffham Prior, St Maries; Aug 18th 1744.

‘To the north of this on a free stone small coffin near the middle isle is this inscription, at the foot of the pulpit: Here lieth Margerie the wife of William Chambers deceased the VII November An. Dni. 1583’

[She was Margery Rogers who married William in Swaffham Prior on 4 Nov 1574. In 1584 William married Mary Norwich.]

 

Swaffham Prior, St Ciric; Aug 18th 1744.

‘Before the pulpit in the isle lies an old stone with this inscription. Here lieth the body of John Chambers buried the 13 of February 1586 and the body of Margery his wife buried the 5 of December 1582.’
