As the site is fairly image intensive it's best viewed at 800x600 on ie6 (I haven't tried anything else, sorry). The posts to the right default to a minimised state, simple click on the down arrow and you'll see the full post, including any images. I can be contacted at website-at-pauljholden-dot-com. Just replace the -at- with the at symbol and the -dot- with "." to get my proper address.

I've toyed with this idea for a little while. I really want to do Seven Samurai in comic form. Idea 1: straight adaptation done in seven pages .. this is page one of that. Idea 2: Seven Samurai in space - exactly the same idea as was used for the awful sci-fi flick starring Napoleon Solo. Idea 3: Seven Samurai fused with Metropolis. Now, this I like. Beneath the city of Metropolis lies the undercity, a populous who rely on the sump leaked by the cities machinery for their fuel. The sump oil is harvested before the freeze, when the leaking stops and the only heat comes from the burning of the stored oil. Until cyborg bandits come down, greedy for the fuel. Their only chance of survival ... seven droids. Masters of the blade... I LIKE this idea and will probably keep it with me for the rest of my days without ever doing anything about it. Hello, this is a new thing, it's a blog but it has a single purpose: I'm gonna use it to post up any pictures I've got lying around. Not sure how often it'll be updated, but I will update it when I get something scanned I like. So, to kick us off: This is the rough for the first page of the recent Dredd that appeared (this weeks!) the rough was done at about A5 and is the second stafe rough I usually do, the first is drawn at about 1"x2". Sometimes I'll score lucky and this rough will translate exactly to the final thing and sometimes it'll change lots. On this one some of the panel structure was kept (I'm a big fan of straight-forward panel shapes/layouts) as a comparison, I'll post up the actual page below it...
