This rifle is built on a Remington 700 .223 tactical chassis, designed for short to medium range use. This package has been assembled with an absolute minimum budget in mind, The barrel is a 20” heavy barrel with a concave target crown and X-Mark pro trigger.
The stock is a light Hogue all weather design together with a mag extender, increasing the magazine capacity to 8rds, making this a light, agile, high capacity rifle.
TVG’s guidance notes: Hogue over moulded Stock
This is not a tactical stock, it is designed for varmint use, however coupled with its low price and robust capabilities I think this is a damn good stock for general purpose use in the civilian shooting scene.
Traditional in layout, its construction involves a fibreglass skeleton with a permanently bonded rubber coating fitted with QD studs for sling and bipod use.
The pistol grip and fore end have a stipple effect to promote a more efficient grip. As you probably have gathered this is an all weather design which has excellent grip in any weather conditions that I have encountered, you will not hurt your little pinky’s on this stock either as the rubber is quite soft.
This is a simple stock which is in my opinion, an advantage, get your rifle thoroughly wet, remove the two stock screws and you can remove the whole assembly for cleaning and re-oiling, something you wont be able to do with the AICS (ten screws).
