Construction
This moderator is manufactured in aluminium to reduce weight and corrosion and is a traditional screw on design . Moderators generate a lot of moisture especially in the winter months so moderators that are sealed and manufactured from steel will have serious corrosion issues if not maintained rigorously.
TVG Rimfire moderators are solely designed for rimfire cartridges. They vary in length depending on the number of baffles, however four baffles are typically for .22WMR and .17HMR and three baffles for .22 HV cartridges and the .22 Subsonic. Whilst bore diameter varies to accommodate the two calibres, dimensions for the largest four baffle moderator are:L 220mm x W 45mm.
All parts are anodised to protect them from the environment, gas erosion and are available in a variety of colours, however the default colour is black.
Stripping
The moderator is designed to be simply stripped and to facilitate easy cleaning. Stripping promotes longevity in the moderator and maintains constant performance over the moderators lifetime. Should a component wear out, then the worn item can be replaced rather than replacing the whole unit. Click on the instructions above to take you to the appropriate page.
