NUOVA MODIFICATIONS

Here you will find many hints and tips,
to help you get the best setup for your 1/5 bike.
| Many people have had problems with the steering on nuova faor and
harm versions."The bike wont turn enough, or not at all". The main cause of this problem lies with the kit steering damper, which connects to the right hand side of the steering head. Remove the steering damper or dont fit it at all. Problem solved. It does not need it anyway. The great thing about these bikes is, they can be raced very competitively, straight out of the box. Try the bike in standard trim while you get used to it. Set the swing arm pivot to the centre position holes. Back the steering rake adjuster screw off completely. Tighten the rear shock spring adjuster about 3/4 of the way up the shock body. The kit tyres will grip on tarmac, concrete, and most carpet surfaces without difficulty. I didnt change my back tyre for 5 months, having raced on most sundays during that period. |
| You will have noticed as you fit your chosen motor, that one of the
motor brushes is in direct line of any oil that is thrown off the drive
chain. I have fitted a lexan shield on the motor with double sided tape
that extends to cover the brush housing to keep it free from oil and
grime. |
| The most annoying fault on the bike has to be the push fit crash
bars falling out in mid corner. The easiest way of stopping this is to
drill a verticle hole into each crash bar mount, fit the crash bar, and
then fit a self tapping screw through the hole until it contacts the
bar, holding it in place. |
| When you cut out the rider figure, leave a piece of extra lexan
behind the knee. Then the rider can be fixed to the bike, by drilling a
small hole in the piece behind the knee and through into the seat. Then
putting a small screw through, and tighten with a nut on the inside.
This keeps the rider attached firmly to the bike, ideal for racing
conditions. |
