Two versions to this one.
The first appears on the charity compilation "The Sky Goes All The Way Home." The title of the album was inspired by the project co-ordinator's daughter who has Downs Syndrome, and some of the proceeds go to the Downs Syndrome Association. Further information click here.
Yonder Down The Winding Road
Yonder when the storms are past
Yonder down the winding road
Freedom shall be ours at last
Yonder down the winding road
Yonder we will share the load
Yonder down the winding road
We shall taste the sweeter vine
Yonder down the winding road
For it is yours and it is mine
Yonder down the winding road
Yonder we will share the load
Yonder down the winding road
And where I wander, where I roam
Yonder down the winding road
It's the same song in a different sky
And the sky goes all the way home
Yonder we will share the load
Yonder down the winding road
Yonder (Down The Winding Road)
This more recent version is found on the 2002 album Home and described as "a requiem for lost ideals."
Yonder down the winding road
Yonder see the tyrant run
Yonder down the winding road
Now the time for change is come
chorus
Yonder we will share the load
Yonder down the winding road
We will reap what we have sowed
Yonder down the winding road
Yonder down the winding road
Yonder down the winding road
In every village and ev'ry town
Yonder down the winding road
We'll turn this old world upside down
chorus
Yonder down the winding road
We shall taste the sweeter vine
Yonder down the winding road
For it is yours and it is mine
chorus
Let your banners blaze and fly
Yonder down the winding road
Raise your anthems to the sky
chorus
Yonder down, yonder down
Yonder down the winding road
Yonder, yonder
Yonder down the winding road
