LIST OF MIPS FUNCTIONS

The MIPS software runs under the Windows operating system. It has been tested on Windows 98 and Windows XP. MIPS is a full Windows menu-driven application. The functions associated with each menu item are:

FILE MENU:

Import image files with the following formats: AVIRIS, ASCII, VEGETATION (HDF), ASTER (HDF), TIFF, GeoTIFF, Bitmap, Environment Agency Lidar, ESA format Landsat TM, Fast L7A, SPOT, ERS SAR, Generic binary.
Export image files with the following formats: raw, Bitmap, TIFF.
Operations on INF files: Edit, create ENVI HDR file.
Operations on image files: Create custom BSQfile, Convert to BSQ.
Print image

ENHANCE MENU

Linear contrast stretch , Histogram equalisation, Gaussian stretch, HSI to RGB, Decorrelation stretch, Pseudocolour and Density slice.

FILTER MENU

Image minus Laplacian, Savitsky-Golay, Median, Nagao-Matsuyama, Sobel, Roberts Gradient,User-designed Filter, Fourier transform (forward/inverse), Frequency domain filters (Butterworth, Directional,Exponential, High-frequency boost, Ideal, Trapezoidal and Point filter).

TRANSFORM MENU

Wavelet (2D) transform, Geometric correction (register image and map, register two images), HSI Pan Sharpen, Wavelet Pan Sharpen, Normalise image, Principal Components (PCA), Tasselled Cap, NDVI, Noise Reduction Transform, Spectral Angle Mapper, Mixture Modelling  (Unconstrained and Constrained.

PLOT MENU

Histogram plot, Scatter plot, Cross-section plot, Nonlinear Mapping, Plot library spectrum (using Spectral Library - included), Plot lidar cross-section, Plot wavelet-denoised derivatives.

CLASSIFY MENU

Isodata, Training Class Data Collection, Supervised Classification (Maximum Likelihood, K-Means, Parallelepiped),  Reclassify, Texture (using wavelets)

UTILITIES  MENU

Change Pixel Size (Resample), Change  Window Caption, Convert 3 Greyscale Images to RGB,  Convert DN to reflectance (TM and ASTER),  Copy Image or Graphics to Clipboard, Cross Correlate Two Images, 'Cross-scan View-angle Correction,  Extract Subimage,  Haze Correction (Chavez), Image Arithmetic, Image Correlogram,  Julian Dates, Mask (Create Mask Image,  Add Masks Logically, Apply Mask)], Manipulate LUTS, Minnaert correction, Nonlinear destriping,  Solar Calculator, Subtract Images

GRAPHICS MENU
