Blade sharpened by pulling backwards & forwards against strips inside case, then clipped to handle. Listed in Army & Navy 1926/27 at 30/- and Harrods 1926. Many editions: nickel-plated, stainless steel, silver and gold. Luxury travelling set at 63/-. Early packaging - red, black and blue carton, later blue snap case and carton. Patented and a registered design, but dates and numbers not indicated. Elegant tin case design in green, purple and gold. Instructions printed on card inserts in both halves of the case.

Alternative system to Gillette method using disposable blades, Valet uses semi-disposable blades that can be re-sharpened in the blade holder by inserting leather strop; it is a combined safety razor and stropping machine. Presented in brown phenol plastic case with blade and strop holder. Patent date is 1936, though was available in mid-20s in the USA.

This version presented in steel snap-shut case, trimmed with red leatherette and red plush inside. Blue enamelled steel blade holder/disposer.
