Whilst attending Lowe House School Kevin became a keen amateur boxer for Lowe house boxing club.

For Frank, Gerrard and Kevin Irish music was a way of life , playing in the Irish Centre in Liverpool. Kevin’s working life started as a chain makers apprentice at the age of 15. 1951 saw Kevin draughted into army national service in Egypt until 1953 where he served in the Royal Artillery. On leaving the army Kevin became a welder. Working anywhere and everywhere ! Oh yes Kevin was very fond of metal !

In 1955 Kevin met his wife of 49 years ,Joan. They Married in 1958 and had four children. The eldest Catherine died at Birth in 1960. Paul now aged 42 lives in St Helens and is father to Kevin’s only grand child James aged 9. Throughout his life he loved the club and has been a regular for well over 30 years. Even through ill health Kevin was a regular and as passionate about , the music , the people and everything the club stands for as he ever was. He would always be in the midst of the organisation whether it be calling the bingo on a Sunday night or getting dancers onto the floor he truly loved the place. Kevin’s other passion was the Honey Rose foundation a charity who’s mission is to provide a memorable day for people with a terminal illness. Kevin organised their first ever charity event.

I would like to reserve a special mention to the Kelly Family. Kevin and Patrick Kelly were great friends for many years as are both families to this day. The love and support shown to Joan by the family, Paddy , Josie , Angela , Clare and Carmel cannot be measured and special thanks to Josie and the girls for making this charity night happen.

Kevin , you were loved and you are missed terribly , but never forgotten.
