Trip to Oakland

November 2000

In November 2000 I finally completed my dream of seeing the Raiders play live.

After 15 years of listening to Raider games on Armed Forces Radio in the middle of the night, watching the Raiders rare appearances live on English tv I was finally going to Oakland !

I managed to get pre-game MVP tickets which let me onto the pitch before the game which forced me to do some crazy things. I managed to 'ahem' take some Raider turf home with me and also to avoid security. I managed to stay on the pitch for the kickoff until I was discovered !

I met so many great fans, shared out lots of cuban cigars with them (!) and met some Raider greats from the 70's after the game. It was an amazing experience and I cant wait to be back in December 2001.
