Titchfield once commanded all it surveyed. It was a Royal Kingdom, the foundation of an Abbey, manor of the Earl of Southampton and once dominated the community. It was a favourite place for royal and noble visitors including Queen Elizabeth I, Henry IV and Charles II.

The Titchfield Hundred incorporated Warsash, Stubbington, Crofton, Catisfield, Funtley and Wickham. It built Britain's second only canal, produced the iron making process that was needed for the industrial revolution and was an inspiration to William Shakespeare.

Titchfield has a longstanding reputation for community spirit. Read about it on this Web site and participate in the live event at Titchfield Abbey.

The live event will be a ginormous, glossy family show featuring two millenniums of Titchfield in the past, present and future told with the latest multimedia techniques. All the joys and sorrows; the love and passion; the battles won and lost; the tremendous achievements and the losses of the village will feature. The event will be both enjoyable and instructive but it will not end there. It will put in place a nucleus of knowledge which can be extended and enhanced in the future.
