Welcome to the Clive Rams Skittles site
The Rams play out of the Clive Arms pub in John Street, Penarth. The team play in the first division of the Penarth and District Skittles league for the sixth season running after finishing mid table last season.
After 10 seasons playing as the "Clive Arms" the the men's team changed its name to the Clive Rams.
The Clive Arms alley is well
know in Penarth as the shortest alley in the league, much to the distaste of
many of the visiting players. Many fingers have been bruised and battered on the
door at the end of the alley and some teams "cheat" by opening the door to roll.
The alley itself is remarkably level and smooth, the wood having been laid by
local legend Peter Rundle, and despite its short length it is by no means the
highest scoring alley in the league.
The Clive team is Also known (to some) for the last game of the season fancy dress. This season, watch out the Legion A!
The Pub
The Clive Arms may be known by many people for its alien
theme, however they may be taken aback when they next visit to find that the
aliens,
along with the decaying surroundings have gone. The Clive is currently run by
Kevin the Jolly Jock and much work has been done in recent years getting the
place refurbished. The pub now looks far better than before and is in good shape
for the future.
That's enough from me and we now look forward to our first game of the season against the Legion Nomads on September the 21st. Good luck to the boys, COME ON THE RAMS!
