Our weekly meetings:

Members meet each Monday lunchtime (except Bank Holidays) in the city centre at the Ramada Leicester Hotel (formerly the Grand Hotel and then the Ramada Jarvis Leicester Hotel), Granby Street, Leicester, LE1 6SE (tel. 0844 815 9012).  (Click here for location and travel directions, including a Google Map)

Visiting Rotarians and guests meet from 12 noon in the bar, with a two course lunch available for collection from the Servery from 12.30 pm onwards (last serving of main course at 1. 05 pm).  At 1.15 pm we have a speaker who gives us an insight into many and varied aspects of our community and international issues, and the formal close of the meeting is at 1.45 pm, though members and guests are encouraged remain for fellowship to 2 pm if business or professional commitments permit this.

21st December: Family of Rotary Day: all family and other guests especially welcome for this traditional pre-Christmas event with special guests Fuchs Foundation Fellows Ruth Hollinger and Dr Amy Rogers.  Ruth, a geographer, and Amy, a biologist, were two of the four members of the Fuchs Foundation's four week long 2007 Antarctic Expedition.

(The locally-based Fuchs Foundation commemorates the life and work of explorer Sir Vivian Fuchs, whose 1956-58 Commonwealth Trans-Antarctic Expedition inspired a generation of school children. Today the Fuchs Foundation aims to inspire future generations by sending young geography and science teachers to the Polar Regions to do scientific projects the harshest of conditions, and through this inspire their own teaching, that of their colleagues, and encouraging their students to study science and geography.)

Saturday 14th November: 6.00pm for 6.30pm. Charity Event organised with Asaf and Freda Hussein at the National Space Centre: An Evening of Intercultural Entertainment, Refreshment and Information to Help END POLIO NOW.

The National Space Centre is in Exploration Drive, LE4 5NS (accessed via Corporation Road, off the A6 Abbey Lane, about a mile north of the City Centre. Plenty of secure, free parking.
