It's all happening for Mary Hopkin at the moment. After
starring at the Palladium with Tommy Steele in 'Dick
Whittington' and appearing with Cliff on his show. She's
off to the Eurovision Song Contest in Amsterdam to
represent Britain. Between rehearsals we sent 20
questions her way.These are the answers we got......
Q. Why do you think you are so successful?
A. "I don't know"
Q. What makes you angry?
A. "Being misquoted and misunderstood"Q. If you had three wishes......?
A. "To be happy in everything I do and to make other
people happy too".Q. Did you enjoy doing the TV shows with Cliff?
A. "Yes I did he's a lovely person to work with."Q. Is there anything you really dislike?
A. "I don't really dislike anything because any dislike I have
for anything does'nt really last."Q. What is your biggest ambition?
A. "To have a happy personal life"Q. What are you ashamed of?
A. "Nothing lasting."Q. Are you moody at all or as good natured as you
always appear in public?
A. "I'm like averyone else. If I am good natured it's part of
my personality as much as if I'm moody."Q.HAve you got a favourite recipe?
A. "No."Q. Who is the most exciting person you have ever met?
A. "It's difficult to be specific as I have met so many people.
But it's always exciting to meet new people."Q. Is peace important or are John and Yoko wasting their
time?
A. "Yes peace is important. To work for something you believe
in is never a waste of time."Q. Which is the most important thing about a girls appearance
Make up, hair or clothes
A. "Personality is the greatest asset and make-up and clothes
merely compliment that."Q. What do feel strongly about?
A. "Nothing."Q. Describe your favourite man/kind of man?
A. "I don't like to talk about men."Q. What sort of clothes do you like to wear?
A. "I like simple feminine clothes, especially flowing romantic clothes
for romantic occasions."Q. How long do think your career will last?
A. "I don't think too far ahead and I take things as they come."Q. Why did you do the Eurovision Song Contest?
A. "Because I was asked."Q. Do you want to follow Lulu and Cilla and act?
A. "I would if a part was offered that I and other people involved
thought I was capable of doing in it."Q. What is your most treasured possession?
A. "My dog."Q. Do you miss Wales?
A. "Yes, I miss my family and the Welsh countryside."
