Fitting a Scottoiler to a Suzuki SV 650 K3

Here's how I went about it.

First you need to find a place for the bottle.  Under the rear seat is a pre drilled bracket which with a bit of a fiddle does the job well.  The tank brace which is stored there is a little fouled, but can still be got at.  You lose a bit of storage capacity, but it was next to useless anyway.  It also has the advantage that the bottle is neatly tucked away out of sight - but hopefully not out of mind.

To find the vacuum tube, look at the engine from the right side.  At the top towards the back is the throttle body, below which can be seen two brass tubes wiht rubber caps.  I used the nearest one of these.  Now, it may be possible to do the job with everything in place, but I couldn't, so the tank got lifed.  This is quite an easy task - the front seat has to come off, but you need that to route the tubes, in any case.

Pull off the little rubber bung and push on the adapter which comes in the kit.  Part #

You'll find it very useful to have fitted the vacuum tube to the adapter, befere fitting.  Learn from my mistake.

I brought the vacuum tube up the right hand side of the bike, under the front seat and into the rear seat compartment.

The fitting of the business end speaks for itself.  I had a bit of trouble getting the mounting plate to stay where I wanted it whilst tightening the bolt, but I managed it in the end.

And that's all folks.

I'd just like to thank the people at Scottoil for their replies to my questions prior to fitting this.  Very helpful.
