All dogs need to be groomed not just to
make them look nice but to keep their coat and skin in good condition,
even dogs with short coats can get matted. In general dogs moult usually
twice a year, with modern homes having central heating a lot of dogs
moult all the time.
When a dog's fur moults, if its not brushed out, it easily becomes matted. This then makes it very difficult to brush out , which causes the skin underneath the matted area to be unable to breathe which can then become infected and smelly the dog will scratch or bite at it and make it worse.
Most dogs pick up fleas and although flea remedy's work very well to kill the fleas unless the dog is washed and groomed properly the flea dirt will still be on the skin and with a lot of dogs this can then cause an irritation or allergy .Its not easy for people to get their dogs in the bath and when they do the dog always shake and make everywhere wet , it also takes a long time to dry a dogs coat.
In professional salons we have special baths that make it easy for the dogs to get in and out & high powered blasters to dry the coat which will also get out all the dead fur and massage the skin . We also have what's known as matt busters and lots of brushes to suite the different coats of all breads of dogs, shampoos for all types of fur and conditioners to help keep the coat matt free so taking your dog to a professional groomer three or four times a year is beneficial to them and to owners.
