100 things about me
- You know that dream where you show up to school wearing no clothes? I've never had that.
- When I was young my favorite cartoon was Daffy Duck.
- When I was very young I was afraid of horses.
- When I was age 14 I was timed running 100m in 11.5 seconds. At 18 I was much faster but I was never timed.
- When I was a boy I threw a friend across the room and broke his collar bone. It was a game, honest.
- When I walk through woodlands I relax so much that my walking speeds drops to about a quarter of normal.
- When driving alone in my car I like to sing loudly.
- There was a time when I wanted to learn to play the electric guitar.
- The most beer I have ever drunk is at one time 8 pints.
- Taking dares used to get into a lot of trouble as a kid.
- Sometimes my own thoughts make me laugh out loud.
- People's first impression of me is usually wrong.
- Online I tend not to use a nickname.
- My mind often focuses so entirely on one subject that I lose track of time and don't hear people calling my name until the 3rd or 4th time.
- My handwriting changes dramatically based on how fast I'm writing.
- My favourite smell is cloves.
- My body is slow to warm up and slow to cool down.
- I've read computer manuals for fun before going to sleep.
- It was ten years after University before I stopped waking in the middle of the night with exam panic.
- I prefer red wine to white.
- In my mid-teens a friend's sister had a massive crush on me.
- I'm not a pack-rat.
- I'm either too trusting or too suspicious. I rarely get the balance right.
- If I had my choice of career, I'd be a record producer.
- If I eat cucumber, I will have hiccups for hours.
- If I consider someone a friend, I will automatically jump to their defence in any circumstances.
- I wrote the start of a sci-fi novel whilst in Luxembourg. One day I'll finish it.

- I used to test blood and other body fluids as my job.

- I tend to check my email everytime I walk past my computer.
- I taught myself to ride a bicycle at the age of 5.
- I still have most of the toy cars I owned as a boy. My kids play with them.
- I sometimes stay up all night when my mind is too active.
- I smoked cigarettes from the age of 18 to 19.
- I recover from lack of sleep very quickly.
- I quote movies and song lyrics for no reason whatsoever.
- I prefer mint gum to cinnamon gum.
- I prefer having a small number of good friends to a large number of casual friends.
- I prefer dark chocolate to milk chocolate.
- I prefer boots to shoes.
- I once went 17 years between visits to the dentist.
- I once owned a bright yellow VW Beetle - the only car to make me smile everytime I climbed inside.
- I once had the guitar riff from the song ""Chaisey Lain"" by the Bloodhand Gang stuck in my head for 2 weeks.
- I often get very fidgety and twitchy when under stress.
- I never talk to myself apart from swearing loudly if I make a mistake.
- I may be gluten-intolerant, but I've never been tested.
- I love wearing brightly coloured clothes and rarely worry about what people are thinking of how I look.
- I love to read.
- I love to cook meals from scratch.
- I love the smell of fresh coffee, the stonger the better.
- I love pineapple, but only idiots put it on pizza.
- I like music from many genres. This has often confused people.
- I have used 7 versions of dos, 7 versions of Windows and one version of Linux.
- I have two younger sisters.
- I have played FreeCell 6 times. I lost the first game as I misunderstood the rules. I won the next 5 games and then quit because there was no challenge.
- I have no problem accepting compliments.
- I have never worn ear plugs or a blindfold.
- I have never swallowed anything by accident or had anything stuck up my nose.
- I have never shoplifted.
- I have never found The Three Stooges even remotely amusing but love the Marx Brothers.
- I have never fainted or been knocked out.
- I have never carried a weapon.
- I have lived in 10 different houses.
- I have had electric shocks from domestic mains and from spark plugs. The spark plugs hurt more.
- I have four sons who all look like me in different ways.
- I have eaten frogs legs, shark, kangaroo, marlin and ostrich. They all taste like chicken.
- I have driven a car in seven countries.
- I have been taking stuff apart since I was very young. I can remember the joy of seeing a telephone in bits.
- I have been never been skiing and have no desire to do so.
- I have been a Star Trek fan since the first show.
- I have a very literal mind. If someone expects me to read between the lines they will be disappointed.
- I hate it when someone quotes a proverb in an arguemnt.
- I found the first white hair on my head when I was 23.
- I find it impossible to list my favourite songs in order of preference.
- I find clowns deeply disappointing.
- I feel uncomfortable in the company of deeply religious people although I think Buddists are cool.
- I enjoy sneezing but hate coughing.
- I don't have a favourite number. My favorite color is blue.
- I don't do well at boring, repetitive tasks because my minds wanders so much.
- I can walk a along the top of a fence.
- I can still remember the phone number and address for the house I grew up in.
- I can read upside down as easily as the right way up.
- I can identify almost every song played on my favorite radio stations within the first couple of seconds.
- I can build a working computer from a box of bits.
- I am slow to anger and slow to calm down.
- I am reasonably good at chess but hate the game and never play.
- I am on first name terms with my dentist.
- I am loved by cats. I have no idea why. Dogs distrust me. The feeling is mutual.
- Certain sounds (such as ripping nylon cloth) make me shudder, but don't seem to bother anybody else.
- Before having children I had no idea of the huge amount of love I was capable of giving.
- At school I was called a headbanger. I took it as a complement.
- At one time I knew the names of every bone in the human body, and I was close to knowing the names of all the muscles.
- As of writing this, I'm 5'6", somewhere around 140lbs, have dark brown hair going grey at the sides, blue eyes, and usually wear a T-shirt and black jeans.
- As a child I didn't like tomatoes or onions but I do now.
- Although I prefered to ride motorcycles, I learned to drive a car when I was 19.
