Canada - September 2000

Unfortunately (ha!!) being in the Royal Navy means having to spend part of your time away from the UK.  In this instance I had to go on an acoustic course with the Canadian Navy at their base in Halifax, Nova Scotia.  Halifax is a lovely place and the people are extremely friendly, with good seafood at extremely low prices and good bars, a lot of which do Irish/Scottish music live in the evenings.  As well as the Canadians on course with me there was also two antipodeans, Muzz Walters and Dave (Jonesy) Jones both from the RAAF.  We all got on well and apart from them both not being able to keep up with the God like Royal Navy drinking ambassador we had some good days and nights out.  Here are some pics of our day out in Peddlers Bar and we are joined by Basher Brian, a RN Observer who was on my last squadron and was also out there on a course, and an Aussie geek PWO!!  Plus the obligatory bar ladies who loved nothing better than helping us part with our hard earned sheckles in exchange for beer and, as the pics show!!, lots of shooters!!

This was the course, me looking very solemn at the back!!  Muzz is the grinning idiot in light blue at the front and Jonesy is the other light blue guy!!

The next pics are of us in Peddlers bar, just look at Bashers face!!  ha ha...he had to fly back to the UK that afternoon!!

Muzz, Bash, Geek, yours truly and Juanita the barmaid.

Its not big and its not clever but it was fun!!

Bashers face is priceless!!! Nice but Dim or what!!!
