Railings

Again, these can be as basic or as exotic as you please. These suited the property, and my clients needs.

Almost any type of lock can be fitted, here, a five lever mortise lock does the job nicely.

This is a typical latch.

Safety:

As per HSE guidelines, all arrowheads on top of any fabrication that could injure, will be supplied with small spheres on the point. There have been some incidents of people 'spearing' themselves on what used to be quite a sharp point. It only takes a little slip.......

Painting

A thing to keep in mind is that the more steelwork there is, the more painting it needs! I supply the ironwork ready primed. My paint is black, any other colours required by arrangement. For touch ups, ordinary outdoor enamel will do, the steel is thick enough to never be in any danger of rusting away. White may show the inevitable chips as rust, black always hides a lot! Hand brushing is best for touch-ups.

Of course, painting isn’t the only answer, electro-plating can be very effective, but is quite expensive. A sample of a part of this gate on the left is still available to look at.

Security grills are always popular, they don't have to be like a jail in appearance. A lot of people leave their windows open in summer, with the security grill closed for a cool, but secure room.

All iron is ex-stock, quality assured to BS 5750 and all work is carried out by me. I am a time served craftsman of 30 years experience, and I don’t leave until you are happy with my work. I will chat with you (tea, no sugar), offer suggestions, and we will come to an agreement as to the exact nature of the work you require. Because of the vast number of components available, the main problem I have is getting people to make their minds up! I will then calculate my price, and offer it to you within a few days with a sketch of the proposed work (prices are forever changing, and I want to offer the most competitive price I am able). You can either accept or decline without a problem, up to this point there has been no charge.

Please note- I will not give a quote over the phone. I have to visit, to understand your needs! Every property is different, I will probably see things that you don't, and it is important to me that you get the ironwork that YOU want. Most of my work comes from recommendations from my clients.

Current delivery is about four-six weeks from confirmation of a typical domestic order

Payment

Methods of payment will vary for each job, normally 50% on confirmation of order, and the remainder on completion. This will, however, be mutually agreed upon before any actual work is carried out by me. All materials relating to the job and supplied by me remains my property until payment in full is made.
