My current work has a dreamlike quality, based on worn surfaces that are interwoven with the poetry of Shelley or Keats floating within transparent fabrics. The delicacy of the fabrics combined with poetry in fragmented form and the magnified flowers awaken subconscious influences, leading the onlooker into the work, allowing them to merge with the dream.

I teach City & Guilds at Longslade College in Leicestershire, and freelance at the Knitting & Stitching show and at Guilds and groups throughout the country.
My students come from a wide background of life experiences and qualifications, each student is taught as an individual with individual learning needs allowing the student to express themselves and develop at their own rate. I believe that to be creative each student needs to feel comfortable, and for that to happen they need to have support not only from the tutor but also from their peers. My students are encouraged to look at embroidery in its widest context. To join one of my courses all you need is the desire to stitch, everything else slips into place.
