Hi Peter,
As promised here is the review!
I lived in 15 Mary Green Walk from Sept 2010 – July 2011 and think that it is a fantastic house. Every room in the house has good quality furniture and the little touches added by Peter made it feel like a home, rather than student accommodation. The house is also in a great location as it is only a 5 minute walk into town and so close to Asda.
Peter is an excellent landlord. If we ever had a problem he would get back to us within a couple of hours (at the latest) to let us know that he has arranged for the problem to be fixed.
Peter has gone over and above what I had expected any landlord to do and throughout the year I have had no problems or concerns whatsoever and I am sure you won't either!!
Also I'm moving out tomorrow so the house will be completely cleared out and clean by then (so if you wanted to get cracking with the kitchen it will be empty!)
I'd just like to say thank you for being a fantastic landlord, a lot of my friends have had a number of problems with their houses so I am extremely grateful to have had you this year!

Dear Peter,
I'm sorry that I have taken a while to get this to you but thought I would let you know what I think of the house.
I felt so welcome walking into the house to find the welcome pack you left for us and the helpful instructions you left us for setting up our bills. The house is in a great condition, its miles better than any other student houses I’ve seen. The new furniture you added over the summer is great making the lounge really homely. Also, thank you for setting up the TV with free sat in order for us to get good reception. I have found the house to be in a great location, with both Asda and Sainsbury’s round the corner, town a short walk away and the buses into uni are frequent.
It’s great to know you’re the other end of the phone should any problems arise.
Thank you for everything.

Hi Peter,
Here is my assessment for you.
I loved the house, the rooms are very spacious and the rent was very reasonable considering the house was the biggest yet cheapest i'd had in my 3 years in Canterbury. When we moved in, the house was spotless and had a little food starter pack (very thoughtful).
During the winter the heating broke, but Peter provided us with portable radiators until it was fixed. Peter was quick at sorting out the heating for us.
Regarding any problems/ issues we had it was always easy to contact Peter by email or phone and always had a response (unlike some other Landlords i've had).
The house is in a perfect location for Asda or Sainsbury's and a 5/10 minute walk from Christ church uni and only about 5 minutes away from town so you wont miss out on anything.
As for Peter as a landlord I can't fault him, always prompt and helpful.

Dear Peter
Thank you for offering me such amazing accommodation over the last few years (2009-2011). I am confident to say your property was easily the best value for money, excellently maintained and convenient property for studying at the University of Kent I have seen in the last 3 years of living in Canterbury. You always did your best to ensure we were well looked after and had your support whenever a problem arose, which to be honest hardly ever did. But it was nice to know we had someone looking out for us who could help when we needed it. Your house really felt like a home to me while I was studying at UKC and so did my house mates, one of which is living there for a 3rd year currently. I think that is proof in itself of the brilliant quality of your management of the property and the letting agent you use to deal with the administration and referencing process. I also appreciate you keeping your word on letting us keep our deposits, I know many landlords don't do this and only care about squeezing students for every pound they can.
Quite simply I wish there were more landlords out there like you.
Regards
David L (The Close 2009/11)

"As a postgraduate going into my 4th year of student housing, I can
honestly say that Peter is the best landlord I've had, despite having
only lived in this house for a month. When I moved in, the house
was spotless, newly painted with brand new carpets. All the furniture
was either new or in great condition, and having freesat already
installed was a great bonus. The welcome food pack was fantastic and has
yet to be finished off. I was especially impressed when there was a
minor issue with my bookshelves and Peter came round and fixed them the
very next day. I think anyone living here would be very impressed with
both the house and the landlord. I can honestly say that I have no
complaints about either"

Hi Peter,
Thank you very much for all your help this year, I can honestly say you've been the best landlord I have had. The Letting Shop weren't so great, but I think you said yourself you weren't a big fan of them! I'm in the process of letting all the bills know we've moved out, but Trevor was the last to leave this morning. I thought I'd let you know our final meter readings too: Gas-12754 and Electricity-79869. Thanks again for everything and good luck with renting the house out if you haven't managed to already.

I would like to say that I have never in all my years of renting accomodation come across such a great landlord as Peter Morris!!! It was such a pleasure to have been his tenant. Any problems, sorted immediately! From the very beginning before I moved from Ireland to Canterbury, and having chatted with Peter on the phone, he put my mind at ease that the house would be good. As I hadn't had a viewing of the house before moving in, Peter was great at informing me what the house was like (including emailing me extra pictures). The welcome pack, with necessary food items and cleaning items was BRILLIANT!! And the extra little package at Christmas. All I can say is thank you to Peter & Irene for all their help and if they had a house in London (or anywhere else for that matter) there would be no question about it that I would want to move into it!!
Thanks again !!!
Louise :-)

Peter,
My apologies that this message has taken me so long to send, I have
been a bit up the wall of late.
Firstly thank you for agreeing to let us have our deposits back in
full. Nick has distributed the money to everybody now, and it has
already come in useful.
Peter and Irene have been fantastic landlords. From the point at
which I first contacted them to discuss living in one of their houses,
to the end of my tenancy and return of my deposit, I have only good
things to say about them. They were very accommodating when arranging
a viewing of the property in question, flexible when dealing with 5
strangers who were all moving in together, and supportive throughout
the process. They were always on hand if there were any problems at
the house (of which there were very few), always at the end of the
phone, and present at the house asap if we needed them to be. When we
asked for a bigger fridge a brand spanking new large model arrived
within days, no questions asked. They kept us fully informed of what
was happening when we left the property, almost to the day when our
deposits were returned, and I would have no qualms about recommending
them as landlords - they were fantastic.
I do hope all is well with you both.
Regards,
Chris

Peter,
I was a tenant of Peter and Irene’s for the academic year of September 2008 to June 2009 and would confidently recommend them as landlords. This is because during the time of my tenancy Peter would quickly reply or drop by to the house whenever my fellow housemates or I needed assistance, no matter how large or small the issue. Peter was readily available by text, email and phone call and I felt not only that they were always at hand to help with any queries or problems, but also that he was happy to do so. The academic year that has just passed was the first time I had rented a property and I am pleased for having had Peter and Irene as my landlords during that time as they made the new experience much easier. I felt truly taken care of as a tenant.

Dear Peter,
Just wanted to say how happy we all are with the house! It was really considerate of you to leave a welcome pack - it's everything we could need. The house itself is great; especially for the re-modelling of the downstairs you did over summer. It's so much nicer than any other student house's we've been in. And it's in a great position for shopping and even the walk up to uni isn't half as bad as we thought it would be.
Also thanks for always being there via text or phone or email. It's good to know we can just get in contact immediately if we need anything.
We're looking forward to living here for the rest of the year!

To Whom It May Concern,
As foreign students it was very difficult for us to find a property to rent as we needed UK guarantors, however, PETER MORRIS and IRENE were the first to give us credit and to accept international guarantors as well. We were offered a great house, with all the facilities a student can need, and when there was a problem we could contact them at any time of the day, and they would solve everything in the shortest time possible. Once when we had a problem related to electricity, we sent them a text message at 3 a.m. and next morning at 9 a.m. they were already in the house fixing the problem. Although helping us whenever needed, they were not intrusive, which made us feel like living not in a rented house, but in our own home. They were excellent landlords and we would sincerely recommend anyone to rent from them without a second thought.
