EVERY LITTLE THING WE SAID TODAY

RECORDING CHRONOLOGY:

BOOK SEVEN : AND IN THE END

Order of Data: Date, event or title, takes recorded, lead singer, writer (s), where recorded, unusual facts, instruments played (if other than Paul on bass, George on lead guitar, John on rhythm guitar and Ringo on drums), and release dates. BOLD TYPE = Released to the public in some form, i.e. single, album, CD or "bootleg" (album, CD or tape), regardless if it was a record, filmed concert, or a recorded and/or filmed interview or press conference.  S: = Who sang the lead  W: = Who wrote the song. (I’ve tried to determine who really wrote the song and how much he contributed.  Sometimes I might say “McCartney” alone when the record or CD gives “Lennon/McCartney” credit.  This is based on interviews with the Beatles, etc.)  S = Single  A = Album   Bootleg = Recordings that have not been officially released but can be obtained by the enterprising fan via the "underground", the Internet, etc.

I have to have an "ending" date or this "list" could go on to the present.  The actual date of the Beatles’ break-up is unclear.  The partnership wasn't officially dissolved until the courts finally did it on 1/9/75.  Paul had filed that suit "divorcing" the Beatles on 12/31/70.  All had "left" the Beatles at various times, working on their own projects, but no one said it was officially over until Paul released an announcement saying that he was no longer a Beatle on 4/10/70.  This was to coincide with the release of his album, "McCartney".  So I'm using that date as the ending to my "list".  Now for the exceptions.  Does three of the four Beatles being present constitute a Beatle recording?  It did during several tracks on the "White Album".  Therefore, I offer the following seven songs for your judgment as to whether they belong on this list.

BLUE MOON OF KENTUCKY S:  Paul  W:  Bill Monroe  Paul, George and Ringo record a promotional spot for the Anthology TV series.  UNK Studio   Aired UNK  Bootleg Unknown
NOW AND THEN   S: John  W:  John Lennon  The Internet reported on 12/1/97 that Paul mentioned that he, George and Ringo had worked on this, another Lennon demo. They didn't use it because "George didn't like it." or because they would've had to write too much more for the song and felt uncomfortable.  UNK studio  Unreleased
GROW OLD WITH ME   S: John  W:  John Lennon  Another demo song that Yoko gave to Paul, George and Ringo to dub over.  It has not been done as of this printing.  UNK studio  Unreleased

The Beatles wrote many songs for other artists and also recorded demos for them, such as Paul's "Come And Get It" (see the entry for 7/24/69).  They wrote more songs for the group but never studio recorded them.  They may have been "demoed" but there are no records of the following songs being "demoed" at Abbey Road studios.  They may have been "home" recorded or another studio could have been used.  I list these songs as possibilities to complete my list.

“OUTFAKES"

There were many songs that were thought to have been recorded by the Beatles.  Other groups did some, and some were manufactured from parts of actual Beatle recordings.  Most were bootlegged, thus giving them the appearance of legitimacy.  Most I have covered in this recording chronology.  The following I include for your information: 1950's
CRY ME A RIVER  Thought to be recorded by the Quarry Men.  Unknown if it was or not.

1965 THE GIRL I LOVE  This was only the title of a bootleg and therefore rumored to be a song.
I LOVE YOU TOO  This was a song by the Fourmost that was in the film, "Ferry Cross The Mersey".

1966BEE SIDE Dudley Moore and Peter Cook did this as the “B” side to the joke record “L.S. Bumblebee”.

1969 KIND OF FUH  A record by the group, Brute Force.

1970 FUTTING (AROUND)  This was the "B" side to the phony song "Have You Heard The Word" done by Maurice Gibb and Steve Kipner.

1971 IT'S GONNA BE ALRIGHT Recorded by Smyle whose lead singer was Bas Muys (who did the "Stars On 45" album).

1970's MAKE LOVE TO THE END  Unknown if recorded or if the Beatles if it was.

UNK HOLDING ON TO A DREAM  Thought to be the Beatles, it was actually BBC reporter Kenny O'Dell, erroneously called Penny O'Dell on some bootlegs.
BABY JANE  Unknown if recorded or if recorded if it was the Beatles.
JOHN'S DREAM  Unknown if recorded or not.  Thought to be done during the "White Album" recordings.
I'M WALKING aka I'M WALKIN' Recorded by a different duet called "John and Paul", hence the error.
PEOPLE SAY  Another record by the duet "John and Paul" mentioned above.
DON'T SHOOT ME PET DINGO, RINGO  A manufactured Beatles record made by combining the guitar solo from "Take Out Some Insurance" with a John Lennon interview from March, 1964.
THE BEATLES RAP  Manufactured from outtakes of Ringo's drums and someone rapping.  Attributed to the "Quarrymen".
CHEESE AND ONIONS  Recorded by Neil Innes as the "Rutles" for the TV special of the same name.
REEPERBAHN BOP  Manufactured from Hamburg tapes and unknown other parts.
CAVERN BOP  Manufactured from the guitar solo of "I Saw Her Standing There" actually recorded at the Cavern Club.
LULLABY FOR A LAZY DAY   NOW KNOWN TO BE A FAKE.  Actually recorded in '67/'68 by a group called "Grapefruit".  Yoko wrongly copyrighted it.  It is thought to be John Alexander.  Bootleg
