Recorded at the Memphis Recording Service
(Sun Records).  “The Million Dollar Quartet”
Elvis dropped into the studio (he’s now
signed with RCA) and he plays the piano and
sings  songs with Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl
Perkins and Johnny Cash.  Johnny never
sings or plays anything so he’s not heard on
the recording.  Elvis pretty much runs the
show, suggesting or starting songs and is
harmonized by Lewis and Perkins, although
they occasionally sing a few lines at Elvis’
prompting.  One of the highlights of the tape
is Elvis telling the others about seeing one of Wards Dominoes (in fact it was Jackie Wilson) imitating him in Las
Vegas. Elvis then imitates Jackie Wilson imitating Elvis.  Elvis also sings a version of “Paralyzed”, (song he'd
already recorded), in the style of Wilson.  There are really only about ten complete songs done.
