Swatch possibly single handed saved the Swiss watch industry. Faced with better quality, more reliable and cheaper watches from Japan the Swiss were slow to react and a lot of good makers went bust. Swatch started producing good quality watches cheaply and efficiently and a brilliant marketing campaign put them into the forefront of peoples watch buying minds.
Here we have a completely sealed clear plastic cased automatic. Note the unique strap attachment and the radial numerals on the dial. This watch keeps almost perfect time well within a couple of seconds a day.
