Mel
Mel
(usually in the blue coat), who plays the Teachest Bass, is also
an individual performer, he entertains children with his traditional
Punch & Judy show, does magic tricks and has a Bouncy Castle
for children's parties. He also performs at OAP Centres with his
guitar and entertains the old folk with sin-a-long songs.
He can play a variety of instruments such as Guitar, Mandolin, Penny
Whistle, Ukulele, Accordian, Fiddle and the Spoons. Mel is a member
of Equity and has appeared on TV in small part acting roles, he
is self employed as a full time entertainer and is always very busy. |

Steve
Steve,
who plays the washboard is also a Potter by trade and has been a
tutor at various colleges over the years. His work has been displayed
at various galleries and he has a pottery studio at Thorsbey Hall
Stables, he undertakes private commissions large or small, sculptural
or functional. Steve works in stoneware and also does 'Raku' firing,
he is 'Potter in Residence' at The Unit of Therapeutic Arts at Derby
University.
Steve is also a very good carpenter and for the last few years he
has been renovating an old barn. He is also a trained hairdresser
and would often help out in his fathers Barber shop. Steve is also
an Equity member and has had many small parts on TV.
He keeps chickens and is a Beekeeper, brews his own beer and wine
and lives with his black cat 'Shadow'. |

Dave
Dave
(usually
in the red coat),
who sings and plays the guitar has written some of the groups songs
and has also had some poetry published. He can also play the Mandolin,
Banjo and Harmonica. Entertainment runs in the family as his father
was an entertainer who played the guitar and sang Country &
Western, Bluegrass and Ballads and was featured on TV.
Dave is an Equity member and has appeared in various TV programmes,
he is a self employed full time entertainer and has been organiser
and MC of Mansfield Folk Club on and off over a number of years
from the 1960s.
He is very interested in history and spends much of his time studying
medieval documents, has had numerous articles featured in history
magazines and a book published. He
is highly regarded in the field of genealogy and people write to
him from all over the world for advice.
Dave was given an award by the German town of Heiligenhaus in appreciation
of his involvement with the hospitality and promotion of friendship
with visiting guests from the 'Twin Town' and the band has played
at various twinning functions at home and abroad. |
