The School Blazer badge

The old school tie, this one was the a later style.

Hammer, made during metalwork class year 2, nearly 30 years old.
Mr. Barber was the teacher, I remember one of the boys put "jungle juice" in his tea. He was not a happy.
One Mr. Gary Stubbs has recently owned up to this crime. (I already knew that detail but didn't want to "split" on him).

The School cap, it had to be worn whilst traveling to and fro school
It's
amazing what survives, these are school football socks
and
the scarf, at least it kept me warm.
Though not an item, remember the punishments, litter picking lunchtimes, detentions, lines,(prefects favorite "500 words about the inside of a ping pong ball"), repairing chairs at lunchtimes and lunch table wiping. I managed to fit in all these and others I've forgot. Table wiping was the most fun, once in year 5, it was a good laugh.
Typical exercise book from those days, this one belonged to Paul Thompson and
was his 3rd year English project. Not the book but what was written in it.
The Bible, issued to every pupil
signed by Fred (Mr. Ball, Headmaster)
"as a guide to the good life"

No such thing as a free lunch, we had to buy dinner tickets on a Monday, to last the week. I have not seen one of these for over 25 years.

March 1977
Thorpe Grammar School presents a production of the operetta "Die Fledermaus".
If all amateur productions, as ambitious and entertaining as this achieved such professionalism we should be lucky.
astonished that a school could make it work so well.
