HISTORY

First there was Dark,then there was light,then there was
sound.The sound was an argument,"what shall we call
ourselves then?"Its the same in every band.This was eight
years ago,Paul and i decided that the name was to be
"Strange Bru".
It was a suitable name for a bluesy rock band playing
anything from T Bone Walker to ZZ Top or Muddy
Waters to Gary Moore and of course some Cream !
The line up was Keith....Lead Guitar & Lead vocals & harp
Richard.....Lead Guitar & vocals
Paul ...... Drums
Derek ....... Bass Guitar & vocals
The gigs came in thick and fast around the Cleveland area,
and around the North East and we kept seeing the same
faces at gigs again and again"which was nice"(think of the
fast show).We were always asked back to pubs for repeat
bookings and we changed our sets adding new material and
original songs as we went.
We backed Walter Trout at the Redcar Bowl(cod heads
unite) the fish jokes were flying and we would play anywere
they would listen.The line ups would alter slightly,we had
M&M first ours were Maurice and Max but not at the same
time.Maurice was lead vocalist for a while and Max took
over for Derek for a while on Bass Guitar when he split.
This is nowt new for bands,we were destined to change
again this time when Richard the mainstay lead guitarist
moved to the deep south you know.The Delta! Well
Scunthorpe to be honest, and we all know who put the T
in Britain! so don't ask about the ---t.
This time we took on an innocent fellow called Steve
although he had been in Foreign Legion.(i thought ther was
something funny about him).Steve came in on Lead Guitar
and BIG Vocals.....
When he was settling in nicely Max had to up and leave
(reproduction beckoned) but this brought in the icon......
the GODGEMEISTER on Bass Guitar and Vocals.
So now we are four,and this time it goes without saying
about getting it together we know we ware on the same
wavelength(when i remember to be)(it's the age ya na).
Now back to the beginning,First there was.....then there
was.....then there was an argument!......"what shall we call
ourselves?"A new line up needed a new name Sheila said
"OUT AFTER DARK" and it beat Whipping Post,Beat
Whipping Post getit!(oh never mind).
a new name ,new material,its rockier,tighter and more
modern but with a penchant for the odd classic to hit the
hot spot!..staedy on we'll KY jelly!
Lots of bands influence us(WA),thats the way it should be.
We like to think there are things we play that no-one else
