Sherb!!!

After a long legal battle, sadly, we are no longer able to exhibit the sacred manifesto image of our JCR Shecretary, since the rights to the photo were bought - stolen!! - by a modeling agency. A grave loss; taken in a rare moment of relaxation during what turned out to ba a bitter and hard fought election campaign, the shot became an instant classic - truly an icon of our age.

A Lincoln Legend

Sherb. Scherb. Sherb. What difference does it make? After all, it's just a name.

It's not just any name, though. To Lincoln's JCR, Sherb means organizational brilliance, tirelessness and strength of moral character. Toughness and tenderness. Firmness and fairness.

John Scerbel-Ball at Lincoln

Even before rising to the position of JCR Secretary, Jon dazzled junior members as the driving force behind the constitutional reform in 2001. Even by Hilary Term he had made a name for himself as one of the sharpest political minds the JCR had seen for a generation.

Running for office in Trinity Term, he won easily despite numerous drawbacks. The by-now iconic manifesto photo (see note above) certainly played a part in this, helping Jon to capitalize on his cross-gender appeal.

On top of all this, as a Peer Supporter Jon has recieved training in counselling and is always there for any JCR member who needs to discuss thie problems. He plays a key roles in all the major sports teams at Lincoln - he is goalkeeper for the 1st football team, playes squash for the college and his batting reputation speaks for itself. Every keen to help out whenever possible, Jon purchased a Boat Club splashtop despite never having rowed.

A Man in Full

"A boring person for a boring job."

An unfair statement from the man himself, speaking at hustings. Despite his rather donnish exterior, Jon has a very quick and wry sense of humor.

Sherb is JSoc rep.
