Madrigal -
Construction

The hull is built 'right way up', first by establishing a
level surface onto which is placed the keel/deadwood/sternpost assembly.
The butt-strapped (no need for scarphing!) bottom plywood sheet is then
bolted down onto the keel, the rocker being automatically created.
In this photograph, an old caravan chassis functions both
as a level working surface, and as a useful trailer.

Now the frames are added, prior to cladding the sides and
deck with plywood.
Bulkheads, bow and stern boards are made from ply, the
construction frames from timber. Nothing goes to waste - everything you
build is incorporated into the finished product.

Details of how to make the mast fittings, tabernacle,
'A' Frame, self-furling gear, cleats, shroud-plates, toe-rails, leeboards,
and even the port-lights are all included in the plans.
