The Perv Parlor 2002 Josh Collins Presented by infamous London rockabilly club The Frat Shack, this film takes place in a Victorian brothel, where all kinds of depravity takes place. Music comes from Shack regulars such as Sexton Ming, Vibrasonic, Pooptones, Armitage Shanks, Diabolics, and many more! It's very hard to know what to say or where to even begin with a movie like Perv Parlor. Josh Collins brought this little piece of cult paradise to us and I'll make you a promise right now, folks. What ever you might have in mind when you pick this one up can not compare to what you're going to get when you throw it in your DVD player! Imagine, if you will, a psychedelic cross between Laugh In with a hint of Rocky Horror, throw in a little Ed Wood and add an unreal amount of Barbie and Ken dolls and you're on your way. At this point I'm not really sure whether I liked it or not but let me assure you it was definitely an adventure! Ok, here's what the box says the movie is about. Ò A time traveling pan-dimensional demonic brothel alights in a techno-victorian society. Any appetite can be satisfied, but there is a price to pay! Can renegade royal gynecologist Prof. Rumphole Pump save the day or are he and his assistant Watty, too incompetent to save anything? Certainly it's too late for most of the city's depraved eliteÉfestering in their own seminal fluidsÉ.Ó This is an actual direct quote off the back of the box. I dare you to try and remember there's a story line at all in this movie. One of the things I love to do is talk movies. Otherwise I wouldn't be writing reviews. One of the things that always seems to come up when I run across people who argue about movies is the difference between something that's just a movie and something that's art. Within these arguments someone inevitably brings up the term Ònon linearÓ and the argument is on. If I ever had an example of what a non linear script would look like if it was made into a film, it would definitely resemble Perv Parlor. This movie is more a series of images flashed one after another. It has an almost dream like quality to it as it runs these images as an example of what the characters fantasies might look like. As soon as we flash to the sex act or fantasy in question, we switch to Barbie Vision. Now this is not the technical term but how else can I put it? All the scenes are acted out with Barbie and Ken dolls. Most of the Ken dolls have had what looks like botched penis enlargements where their BVD Briefs used to be. I have to say it was a little frightening! The cum shot finales actually shot from the Ken dolls and looked a bit like skim milk. Frightening indeed! I'm actually in awe at the length the makers of this film went to. There are full city models made from anything you can imagine, the whole troupe of altered Barbie and Ken Models, and these are just the scenes that don't have real humans in them! Our human males have had similar penis enlargements as wel. They are now living in the five-foot long range. Then you have the entire computer FX work that brings the complete vision to us in psychedelic Technicolor. It was an amazing amount of time and effort to put this film together obviously. Audio was presented mono and there were some oddities in the sound. It's fitting, considering that there wasn't a moment in the movie that wasn't odd to some degree or another. The move is in English but it looks like they filmed the movie without sound and then overdubbed the dialogue. Watching an entire movie like this had a weird effect on me. It gave the entire movie a very surreal feel to it. In a sense it kept me watching. The dialog boarders on inane and is really quite boring but when you couple it with the bizarre imagery and the dreamlike feel, it taps in more on an emotional level than an intellectual one. While I didn't really relate to the content, I found myself interested in the movie until the end. There are some extras on the disk that are worth a look as well. First, there's the Frat Shack Shakedown. This is a sixty minute long feature of music videos. It's presented in a similar style to that of the main feature and the music has kind of an early punk feel to it. If you can handle the imagery, it's definitely worth a look. There's a five-page biography on Josh Collins included as well. Last but not least is a peek at Pervirella. This is another film by Josh Collins that you can check out the trailer for. This was a very odd movie. Like I said before, I'm really not sure if I liked it or not. It's one of those movies that are so bizarre; you just have to check it out for yourself. Good or bad, art or crap, the one thing it isn't...is boring. IMDB

Meanwhile, the puppets are gathering sections of human brain to revitalize the alchemy that keeps them and their master alive. So people must die! They must die with their brains hacked out!
