They rent a house, and initially seem like ordinary, swinging thrill seekers, who enjoy having sex in a phone booth. But all of these rather innocent, initial impressions are shattered when Chris wanders outside one sunny morning, stumbles across a lost lamb, has sex with it, and then slaughters the poor creature with a handy knife! Celia seduces a local house painter, and screws him in a field as Christopher captures a few Kodak moments from afar. And together, they torture the poor guy by nailing his hands to the ground, urinate on him and force feeding him a bucket of paint. Then they invade the home of a gay shop keeper (a "filthy creature"), while a middle-aged lesbian slut gets torched from Chris and winds up decapitated by a bulldozer! There's also a black private eye on their trail, a creepy crime novelist, and a pair of degenerate hippies who rape Celia in her bathtub. One amusing scene is where Chris invades a gay party wielding a sword. Chris chases one of the guys through the middle of town with a sword and no one else in the town seems to notice. These two don't simply kill somebody--they also have to burn their faces off by lighting a handy aerosol bottle. The couple believe they are helping God punish the perverse by torturing and killing visiting (and local) sexual deviants. He then cuts off his wife's head, carries it around with him and talks to it. Butler goes on a gory killing spree in Las Vegas, bumping off anyone who reminds him of his wife. He goes after the girls from B.L.O.W. (Beautiful Ladies of Oil Wrestling), holds them hostage and proceeds to slaughter them all one at a time. This ultra low budget shot on video feature from Vegas is definitely one of the most downright sadistic and repulsive movies I've ever seen. Yet it's so damn amusing and over-the-top it's almost comical giving it some sort of weird charm one can't put their finger on. There's lots of incredibly gory and nasty killings in this one. Levin ties a prostitute's leg up to his car, drive away, and rips her leg off. He goes into a bar when nobody is around and pulls out his wife's head and says to the bartender, "Get me a beer! And get this bitch one too!" before blowing him away. A gardener has his head flattened with a shovel. One girl is drilled to death and another has a hammer claw stuck up underneath her rib cage. An arm is pulled off. A Jehovah's Witness has his neck slammed in a door so hard that it snaps his head off! A driver who gives Levin the middle finger has his finger blown off with a gun and he says, "Let's see you pick your nose with that!" And the most sickening scene of all is when he cuts open a pregnant woman, rips out the baby and splatters it against the wall. Directed by David Schwartz. The Last Night 1983 Michael J. Murphy Two psychopathic killers break into a theatre where they're getting ready on stage for the final show of a murder play. Soon the actors begin to disappear one by one. Will they be able to finish the play or will they all die before the curtains close? This rare British wannabe slasher flick really failed to impress me. The movie takes place in a theatre, not a cinema, but a proper theatre where two serial killers are offing the actors. The story is anything but original and even if it obviously wants to be a slasher flick, it ends up feeling more like an action-thriller. The movie is only 50 minutes long and I'm guessing that even the director realized that this movie was going to be a disaster so he probably never bothered to make it full-length. The acting is pretty terrible but luckily, the charming British accent that they have makes us forget about the dreadful acting. The director also seems to be a rookie since some of the scenes are way too dark and some of the scenes are way too bright. It really doesn't feel professional in any way. No wonder this is a forgotten flick. The Last Night is a complete and utter mess and will hardly please any slasher fan. The story is awful, the acting is horrid and the director doesn't seem to have a clue of what he's doing. The only thing that this movie has going for it is that it's only 50 minutes long. If this would have been over an hour long I would have stopped watching it after the dreadful first 10 minutes. Before long, Leprechaun shows up to claim his coin, he bites Scott and in the process some of Leprechaun's green blood spills into Scott's wound, so before long Scott transforms into a tall Leprechaun and he needs some help!
