Ugo Liberatore's Italian giallo thriller NERO VENEZIANO (aka: Damned in Venice, 1977) is a very satisfying "Italian Omen" with great and young cast who can act, too. A young blind boy Mark sees some horrible visions involving some satanic goings on, characters and other menacing things that concern him very much. His sister doesn't believe him at all but soon she'll learn they are much more than just nightmares. Naturally the film takes place in Venice and also has some nice and moody photography and settings. |

phere, drug usage, nudity and a plethora of hidden symbolism making this film stand alone beyond categorization.
The film also features a superb and haunting electronic score by the underground Goth-
band The Unquiet Void.
Shot on Beltane in May of 1998 on the grounds of a sacred Catholic monastery this film's legend and cult status continues to grow. Rumors of real life summoning of dark forces in the film, bizarre happenings during the shoot and the lives of the cast and crew strongly affected by their participation in this film.

Does the snuff film truly exist? If they do, no one is talking. But it makes you wonder, who's worse, the murderer who tapes the crime or the sicko who gets his jollies from watching such trash?
Recent films, such as Joel Shumacher's 8MM, have tried to explore the possible underground world that might surround the snuff film, but none have gone far enough across the into this world of darkness and perversion. None have crossed the line into the world of the taboo, which limits the emotional resonance of your film since your dealing with such a powerful subject. The viewer sees things through the eyes of a neutral third party; someone indirectly involved who has no real emotional connection to the material.
DEAD GIRL ON FILM gives you the world of the snuff filmmaker. It's dirty, bleak, drug-infested, white trash hell. There are those that love the quick cash and those that can't live with themselves and the atrocities they've committed. All of which pay high prices for their deeds.
DEAD GIRL OF FILM takes the chances Hollywood films are afraid to. It reveals filth for what it is and delivers the hardcore truth. I hope that if you ever see it on the rental shelves, you pick up this movie of 8MM. It's one helluva lot better. |

Deadhunter : Sevillian Zombies |

|
The Story
The recently deceased are returning to life and attacking members of the public in the Spanish city of Sevilla. In response an elite team of agents, known as the Deadhunters, has been assembled to eradicate the flesh eating threat from the city. Under the watchful eye of 'The Commander' they are issued orders and take to the streets to neutralise the zombies wherever they cause a disturbance.
Father Dan (on assignment from the Vatican), and Charlie are sent out to a video store where an incident has been reported. Searching the store they find a zombie hiding behind the video racks and after a struggle with Father Dan, where he beats the zombie half back to death with a copy of Bad Taste, both he and Charlie fill the reanimated ghoul full of hot Deadhunter lead.
Across the city more incidents are occurring and the Mayor has refused to cancel the fair which attracts thousands of people each year. Of course, where there's a high concentration of Sevillian civilians, there are sure to be gut munching zombies. Overpowered and undermanned, the Deadhunters have to fight for their lives.
Meanwhile, the Commander realises that to mop up the isolated pockets of shuffling flesheaters will not be enough, the problem must be attacked at the source if there is ever to be a resolution. He discovers that an abandoned subway system is the breeding ground for the epidemic, and mobilises the remaining Deadhunters to the subway for a battle to win back the city

A demon falls in love with a maiden and takes on human form in order to make love to her. She dies, and the saddened demon cries tears of blood upon their bed. The bed absorbs this blood and becomes a living predator...an antique canopy bed which consumes anyone unfortunate enough to rest upon it. A strange concept for a horror film, but the way it's presented is far, far stranger... This no-budget oddity was made with a very peculiar artistic finesse...not so much pretentious as self-consciously esoteric, it combines the sleaze of 70s trash cinema with several oddball ingredients of dreamlike surrealism(it's largely narrated by a spirit held captive in a painting on a wall opposite the killer bed). Released on video in the UK on the obscure Portland Films label circa 1982, George Barry's mysterious, enigmatic 'Death Bed' is one of the most perverse, obtuse and difficult to rationalize features I've ever seen. |

Death Warrior-INSANE Turkish martial arts flick that stars Cunyect Arkin as a bad ass martial artist who beats the shit out of everyone in his path! Lots of great and BLOODY fight sequences make this another Mondo Macabro oddity a must see! In Turkish only. Ok quality but RARE!
Interesting.
if you watched Dunyayi Kurtaran Adam, and liked it,you probably love this one! its a Masterpiece! Its about a group of invincible ninjas in U.S, and they start killing everybody,so the NYPD chief cant solve the problem,so the mayor thinks 'ONLY a Turkish can handle the situation',so they call for Inspector Kemal for help.. and he comes to U.S. Thats when the action starts! i grew up watching Cuneyt Arkins movies, and i cant recall a movie that i didnt like..thats what i want to mention,in every movie of his,i think he always tried his best as this one. So dont miss!
DEATH WARRIOR (84) aka Olum Savascisi. Holy sweet screaming mother of Jesus! Here is undoubtedly the trashiest, craziest, most insanely obscure and ludicrous Turco freakout of them all. Anybody’s guess as to how many zero budget horror/action/kung fu/ninja movies this monstrosity was stitched together from but the end result makes even the worst Godfrey Ho cut and paster look like a model of continuity by comparison. One minute hooded ninjas with giant plywood swords are running around people’s backyards in broad daylight drowning women in swimming pools, the next Cuneyt Arkin’s going mano a mano with some acrobatically impaired martial artiste in an open field. Then the camera’s flying through the woods ala The Evil Dead, people are racing around kicking each other off the backs of motorcycles, some guy gets killed with a playing card to the neck, there are killer plants and a furry handed mummy ninja, Arkin’s attacked by a woman who turns into a killer toad, and on and on and on until you’re certain your head’s going to explode... but in a good way. We fully expected it all to end in a giant stock footage nuclear fireball but that would’ve been too easy! Just wait until you see what they came up with instead! Ho! Ho! Serously folks, not only do we implore you to buy this thing but we also recommend that before watching it you swing by the local grade school and buy a couple of fatties from some skater kid ‘cuz this one’s worth going off your sobriety for.
starring Cuneyt Arkin (of Turkish Star Wars fame) and some bastard named "Karate Hocasi," Death Warrior seems to be 87 different movies all playing at once. no simple synopsis would begin to describe the madness contained in this 73 or so minutes, but here's some hilights:
ninjas kills rich fat cats with big ass swords...a man is attacked by a toilet paper mummy with fuzzy paws...skanky Turkish gals (one looks like Courtney Love) cat fight in bikinis...a karate master blows up rocks...greasy gangsters are attacked poolside by living plants...Cuneyt battles a human flaming pinata...
no subs as is the norm, but trust me, ya don't need 'em. |

There's a serial killer on the loose who slashes his victims with the sharp nails on his fingers and leaves them to mutilate.A detective, with a unique ability,ESP (Extra Sensory Perception) is called in to investigate, but can he stop the beast before he strikes again? This would be an early entry into the serial killer genre, long before it really hit it's peak with films like The Silence of the Lambs and long before the genre ended up becoming really tired and derivative (even though I think this ripped off Halloween a bit.)In fact,it's a very 'early' effort all round, with some really terrible buffing and lighting that show what a clunky,low-budget effort it all is.I suppose it's fairly eerie and unsettling in parts. |

I thought it would be a standard gore fest, but it got me in strange way. There was a little gore in it, but the concepts here were far more fascinating. If I was a younger man, I think I would have easily related to this film in a life-changing way. Travis is a character in the film who is having problems dealing with his identity and sexuality. The way it is portrayed here is not in a shallow fashion, but in an in-depth personal way that exposes some of our deepest most thoughts. I preferred the character drama to all the gore and effects at the end, because it is so far reaching. The same team (and some of the same actors) who appeared here also were in their second film, To Become One. Strangely, the films don't resemble each other in theme or style. This film really touched me. Watch it again and again!!!

This bizarre Mexican production is loosely based on The System of Dr. Tarr and Professor Feather by Edgar Allan Poe. The story involves a visit from a newspaper reporter (Claudio Brook) to a sanitarium in 19th century France, where he eventually comes to realize the asylum is being run by one of its own inmates, a megalomaniac, who allows the others to play out their basest fantasies and urges. More stylish and creative than its exploitative American-release title implies (the original Mexican title translates as Mansion of Madness), this is an interesting surrealist spin on the Poe tale from the producers of Jodorowsky's El Topo. — Cavett Binion |

This is a typically looney Paul Naschy take on the giallo. It has some gory deaths, nice ladies, and totally whacked out dialogue and characters. However, this is not an easy film for Naschy fans (like myself) to find. There was a very early 80's release (about 1980/81) on Video Unlimited which was excellent quality (but full-screen)and uncut: not surprising that it is very rare and highly sought after by collectors/fans.
