The Abandoned (2006) aka Bloodline Directed by After the death of her last surviving family member, a film producer who was adopted as a baby and sent to America, returns to her native Russia to the family farm. Once there, strange things begin to happen including the disappearance of her guide, the manifestation of ghosts (including her own!) and the appearance of another man who has been drawn to the farm for the same reasons. [Nacho Cerdas feature debut.Hes one hell of an extreme director so got my eye on this movie. Also of note is that its a Spanish filmax international film they allways make lush looking movies] _______________________________

Albert Fish (2006) Directed by Albert Fish is the true story of one man's painful struggle between Biblical religious faith and personal humanity. Taking his religion literally, elderly Albert Fish searches 1920's New York City for victims to sacrifice. While living and working with his son, Fish's sadomasochistic obsessions and fantasies come to light. Using candy and other treats to lure children, Albert Fish emerges as the original boogey man. The beginnings of stranger danger. Fish executes a plan to take Grace Budd away from her family to eventually murder and cannibalize the young girl at the fable-like setting of a cottage surrounded by woods. Detective William King of New York's Missing Person's Bureau is assigned to the case. After every attempt imaginable, King cannot find the mysterious "Gray Man" who took Grace Budd from her home. [Extreme artist Joe Coleman stars as Albert Fish should at least be different this one] _______________________________

Alice Blue (2006) Something strange is going on behind the doors of Raven Advertising. It's Alice Blue's first day on the job and already she has set her sights on creating an impressive ad campaign for an important American wine company not too mention the agency's top creative director, Stephen. However the Agency has other plans for her. Reluctantly she befriends a group of co-workers who call themselves "The Resistance" led by one lovelorn chap named Peter. Peter is convinced something very sinister is at work at Raven and Alice is somehow the key to unravelling the mystery. With the help of The Resistance, Alice discovers ancient secrets and her own genetic predisposition to being a vampire. But in the end, despite the powerful forces allied against her, Alice will abide by no ones rules but her own. _______________________________

BackWoods (2006) Directed by Ledoyen and Considine play a young married couple at the end of the 1970s, who come to visit a friend (Oldman) who now lives in the Basque region because he has married a woman from there (Sánchez-Gijón). Their tranquil summer turns to horror when they discover a girl with horribly mutilated hands in the forest. They try to help her by taking her away from the home in which she is locked, but the local villagers, who have to protect the girl, start a pursuit in the forest they know much better than the visitors. Local authorities were shocked to find the remians scattered throughtout the ranch. Speculation led authorities to belive that it had been done by coyotes, or was infact a "satanic" killing. No conclusion was given to the public about their death. Crime scene photo's and evidence tell a different account of the events taking place that night. Nothing could have saved them, from this unholy beast. _______________________________ Caleuche: El llamado del mar (2006) Directed by Isabel is a marine investigator of Latin origin that works in the United States suffers a disease that finishes with its investigations. In search of a recovery it travels to the island of Chilóe to the south of Chile in search of the history of his ancestors and there it discovers the existence of an amazing history on a ghost boat called Caleuche that affects the life of the villagers. _______________________________

Their destinies are linked and transformed by a magical talisman with the power to break an ancient curse. "The Count of Little Havana" is a hilarious, fast-paced and highly suspenseful spoof on the classic vampire myth with outrageous characters, fantasy and romance spiced with a zesty (and unique) Latin flavor to sink your teeth into [Sounds like fun Cuban horror is this a 1st ?] _______________________________

Soon after the arrival of the four, a mysterious force the islanders thought was chained forever in the dark basement of the foreboding old Counting House is once again on the loose, savagely killing its women. Caught in a power struggle between rival island factions over how to stop the killing, the mainlanders are jailed. They manage to break out, but with a vigilante mob on their heels, can they reach the boat in time? They do, only to confront the mysterious, terrifying force. _______________________________

The closer they come to remembering the circumstances of the mysterious child's death, the closer they come to their own reckoning. Creatures of the Night (2006) Directed by Who are the real monsters here? The Nazi's, or something worse? Set in 1941 Rumania (Transylvania), 4 German officers find themselves guests of the Reclusive Count Vladmire Rasnov, and his enigmatic family. While there some of the officers men begin to disappear one by one. Evil demon like gypsies live in the dark forest surrounding Rasnov manor. Are they responsible for the missing men, or is there a greater evil at work? An evil more sinister than the Nazi's themselves. [Sounds good this, usually works well having an horror film set around a war] _______________________________

The main stories deal with alternative realities ("Alice"), possessed communication devices ("The Radio"), vampires and serial killers in lust ("Call Girl"), mad inventors ("The Professor's Wife"), and hauntings from beyond ("Haunted Dog"). [Usually hit and miss anthology horrors but least theyre short and if ones bad theres others that are normally OK] _______________________________
