Omeron

Omeron's musical mission is to recreate some of the moments of overwhelming beauty he witnessed on dancefloors and in chill out rooms around the world. Upbeat or down-tempo, his productions are defined by a sense of melancholy, longing and beauty with the emphasis more on interwoven melodies than pure rhythm. To Omeron, house music should offer a journey of the senses through a landscape of contrasting atmospheres and emotions. His live set ranges from fragile ambient to warm deep house and is occasionally strengthened by the presence of multi-instrumentalist Matt Derbyshire.

Or in the words of Ulrich Schnauss: "thanks for passing over a copy of your demo cd which i really enjoyed listening to - exciting mixture of styles, good production and some truly uplifting, emotional chord changes!"

Omeron was born in the heart of the Netherlands during the summer of love. With a passion for music since his early teens, he played bass guitar, keyboards and drum computers for several years. Being introduced to house music in the early nineties prompted a period of 10 years of immersion in rave culture, exploring the scene from Amsterdam to San Francisco. In 1999 Omeron settled in Oxfordshire and took up producing music again.

Omeron's first live appearance was as a warm up for the  Big Chill On The Road tour visiting Bar Baby in Oxford on the 5th of May 2003 Since then he has played at Peepshow (8-11-03, The Bullingdon, Oxford, for a review see here), Skittle Alley (14-11-03, King's Head and Bell, Abingdon), the Peepshow tent at the Cowley Road Festival in Oxford (13-6-2004) and the Baraka Chillathon Festival in Crawley, Oxfordshire (10 & 11 July, 2004).
