| Latest News Due to the structural work being done on the roof of Bury Transport museum in which the bus is parked, which could take another 12 months to complete, the committee of the museum under recommendations from the health and Safety executive at the council, that vehicle owners are not permitted in the building, and that it is closed until further notice. It has been 1 year since the group has been down to do work on the bus, but 163 is still checked on by work staff, and work on its restoration should start once the roof has been finished . 23/2/05 Due to the rules of the Heritage lottery grant, we are unable to apply for it, but we are now to submit for a grant from Oldham council. The money is to be used for completing the interior / exterior of the bus, plus return the bus to the road 6/3/05 We have had some news on the progress of the roof at Bury, and that they have finished one side of the roof and that the second side is nearly completed. Once finished,the vehicles should be allowed back in, and that hopefully the public can once again visit. This is believed temp, until money can be found to completely repair the whole roof and building.
