History of 163
163 was delivered in December 1967 and contained many modifications that earlier batches did not receive.
An uprated engine, the 0.680 was fitted instead of the more common 0.600 which was allocated to earlier batches,
proved to be a winner with drivers.
These were to be the last single door buses Oldham ordered as the batches after was fitted with dual doors for one man
operation.

Originally 163 was crew operated, but due to the Conversion of the 25/26 service and the lateness on the dual door batch
178-182  during 1968, 161-171 was converted to one man operation
