About me...

My name is Colin Michael Ormsby, and I currently live in the city of Sunderland in the north-east of England, UK, with my housemate and ex-girlfriend Teresa, who until she was daft enough to move in was called Trees by everyone - I call her Terri, and hey presto, so does everyone else now.

I say currently, because, once constructed, I'm a lazy sod when it comes to updating webpages - the last "About me" had me at 25, now I'm 29, but now is relative.... I was born in June 1973 - you do the maths :)

I have, on this site, a Diary of my day-to-day doings. It's a fairly new part of the site, and I have no idea of how comprehensive or up-to-date it will be (see above comments relating to updating). Go take a look and find out.....

I am the proud father of 2 wonderful boys, Jack and Dominic, and a kind of step father come uncle to a beautiful young girl, Bethany.

I am currently (again - all relative) studying at the University of Sunderland, doing BA(Hons) Information Technology Education leading to QTS (2 year), all of which basically means I intend to teach ICT (Information and Communications Technology (computer studies) to 11-18 year olds). I have webpages on the university server, and you can see those here, but at the time of writing, there was next to nothing there, other than a link to here...
I am about (don't forget... all relative) to start on my "professional year" which means instead of loafing around at uni, or staying in bed until noon like a "proper" student, I'll be up bright (kinda) and breezy (unlikely) every morning, and spending time in school actually learning the guts of how to be a teacher for real...

Funding comes in the form of a part-time sales/technician job with PC World, which I started in November of 2001, where I get to spend hours every weekend talking to people about computers. This is after I spend all week learning about computers, and before I get home and spend hours ON the computer.... Don't panic, my life isn't THAT unidirectional, it just has a heavy slant in that direction....

In my spare time (yeah LOL - I know - full time student, part time dad etc. - I do have some) I do a little work for myself, producing Web Pages and other computer based products for a range of local companies, including Jetpatcher (UK) Ltd, WinSunD Ltd, MAJ Paints Ltd, QRP Ltd, and QRP Northern.

If you're at all curious about my use of the nickname OldBaldy, then you'll just have to get to know me, THEN ask.... I might even tell you....

I have nothing else of any great importance to say at this point, but I'm thinking of putting some kind of diary on here, inspired by the one and only Weirdlills, and if you feel like getting in touch, for whatever reason, feel free to contact me.
