| 21/03/06 Our next gig is down in London for the Punk Aid festival at the 100 Club in April, which day we're playing will be confirmed shortly, we hope to see as many people there as possible to support this excellent cause. After that it's yet another jaunt to the Big City on April 22nd for a gig in Acton, North London, at The Kings Arms where we're supporting the mighty 999 so hope to see all you Londoners at that one as well. Happy New Year to everyone from Resistance 77!
We've now
arranged our first gigs for 2006, please come along to support us and
the scene. We're also going into the studios in March to record for a
new CD. We have 8 new tracks written, a few live tracks and we
are re-doing 2 old ones and we've got a new cover to record. It's
set to be the best album yet!

Resistance have now arranged their last 3 gigs for 2005: Friday 25th November they play at The Victoria in Derby Friday 2nd December the band is at The Black Horse in Somercotes which is near Alfreton in Derbyshire Sunday 18th December sees them play at Rock City in Nottingham as part of an all dayer which includes Stiff Little Fingers, Stranglers and a host of others. Rock City is also celebrating it's 25th Anniversary year along with the band! On a less positive note the band will not be playing at Derby Assembly Rooms next Friday (7th October) as they have been removed from the bill and replaced by Goldblade. The reason for this is unknown to the band and totally out of their control, apologies to anyone who was planning to come along to see them.

A gig has been arranged at short notice for Saturday 23rd July at The Boardwalk, Sheffield with The Sex Pistols experience. Then R77 are off to Anti-Fest in the Czech Republic on Saturday 6th August. More gig information coming soon. |

The band were due to play a gig at the Flower Pot in Derby, however due to unforeseen circumstances they are now unable to make this date. Currently the next planned gig is Anti-Fest in the Czech Republic on Saturday 6th August but others may be arranged in the meantime so watch this space. |

Resistance 77 are now playing at The Marquee in London's Leicester Square area supporting The Business on Saturday 6th November. The band are stepping in as last minute replacements for Menace who are unable to play a full set now as Charlie can't make it, don't worry though as there will still be a short selection of Menace songs after R77 as Kieron has kindly agreed to step in on bass for them. In his words "gawd help us"! Also on the bill are Toxic Slut and The Anoraks, doors open at 7:30pm.

Resistance 77 are playing a 'fun' gig at South Normanton Community Centre near Alfreton , Derbys on Friday 15th October with a Clash covers band. The night is called 'Punx Night Out' and will include a punk disco so it should be a laugh. The band will be playing as a 3 piece as Oddy is unavailable and will be playing covers plus various R77 stuff. The band are also looking for a new drummer due to family commitments so if you live in the Nottinghamshire / Derbyshire area, are keen and dedicated to the scene and want to join an established band get in touch for an audition. Plenty of opportunities to play abroad as well as in the UK.

The band are to play the Wasted 1 day festival in Nottingham, this will be there first Nottingham gig for over 15 years! They are also hoping to line up more gigs in the very near future, keep an eye on this page for further details.

1/03/04 Gig news:

March. This will be the second to last gig there as Suck and Rianna are

23/01/04 Gigs news: Resistance have their first gig after Kieron's unfortunate accident in just 2 weeks time, as below it's at the Vic in Derby on Friday 6th February. Should be a great night so get down there and have some fun! The band also
have several gigs arranged in the Czech in the next few months: Band news: the new album is now finished and being mixed, it is expected to be released around March time. If there's any more news on release date we'll let you know. |

14/12/03 Gigs news: Resistance will be playing again very soon after several months out due to injury. The first gig they have booked is on Friday February 6th at the Vic in Derby to celebrate Dave Hindmarsh's birthday. They will be playing alongside Menace, 2 of Dave's favourite bands, that should be an interesting night for Oddy! Resistance will be playing several tracks off their new album. It is believed that the gig will be free entry but this has yet to be confirmed, watch this space! They are also booked to play Punk Aid which is March 26th, 27th and 28th next year in a Great Yarmouth (Hemsby) holiday camp, further details soon... Band news: Resistance have been in the studio this weekend to begin recording the new album, this has been recorded and a DVD is being planned which will include this footage. Res77 are planning a split EP in the new year with Czech band SPS who they became friends with on a previous tour and who are also playing Punk Aid so catch them there. Web news: a new page is now up and running entitled "Did you know..." which will list several little known but interesting (we hope) facts about all members of the band! If anyone has any others then please let me know and, after verification of course, I'll add them on. |

Band news: Res77 go into the studio in December to begin recording their new album which is due out early in the new year. The new album has a couple of football tracks and may also feature Chelsea Girl as this is the most requested track at live gigs. A 4 track EP might be forthcoming soon too, two versions are to be made, one for the English market and one for America. The recent Menace tour received lots of positive feedback and Oddy would like to thank all the Res77 fans who supported them on that tour. A Resistance tour is already planned for early next year so watch this space for further details. For past ventures see the Reviews page, loads of new stuff now uploaded.... |

news: although Resistance are not playing this side of Christmas due to
injury, Oddy will be fronting Menace down The Hope & Anchor,
Islington on Friday 10th October, get down there for a chance to see the
man in action!
More Res77 studio news coming soon... CONGRATULATIONS to Mushy on the birth of his daughter Ruby. Please
note: This is due to Kieron breaking his hand playing cricket (dangerous game) instead of sticking to footie! I know everyone needs something to do in the close season but why couldn't he just have gone to the pub and got p*ssed like the rest of us? Hope you've learned your lesson K and will stick to supporting good old Nottingham Forest in the future!!! Come on you Reds..... Note: The Rifleman date detailed below may now be out of the question, we'll keep you updated. Other news: the band enter the studio to begin recording their next album in December (broken hand permitting), they are currently concentrating on writing material for the release while playing is out of the question. Kierons injury also allows Oddy sometime to concentrate on singing with Menace so hopefully there will be some gigs coming up in the near future, we'll keep you posted. |
