A new pack of walks, 'Exploring Sherwood Forest - Five Countryside Walks', has been published by Notts County Council in conjunction with The Countryside Agency, Greenwood Community Forest and Sherwood Forest Trust.

The pack is designed for visitors to the Sherwood Forest area and contains five walks. All routes have clear maps, written directions and are signed on the ground.

Routes stick mostly to definitive public rights of way, which use standard waymarks (yellow for footpaths or blue for bridleways).

The pack is contained in a handy plastic wallet, which not only keep everything together, but also acts as a rain jacket for leaflets when out on walks.

Transport.

The routes have been designed so that they can be reached easily by using the bus, which is an environmentally friendly way to explore Sherwood.>

If you're using the bus be aware of the bus timetables. On Sundays and Bank Holidays, the "Sherwood Forester" provides an enhanced bus service to the area.
