WHERE TO BUY STUFF
|
|
We are frequently asked
where we buy our clothing, uniforms and equipment from.
Some people even email
us and ask can they borrow uniforms and equipment from us. The answer is
always a polite refusal: what we have is often very valuable and we do
not hire out anything to people who we do not know.
Members have lent things to other people in the past, only to have items
returned damaged - or worse - not at all. PLEASE DO NOT ASK US
TO LEND YOU UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT unless you are a guest at one of
our events.
We buy our clothing and
equipment from local militaria fairs where sellers gather to sell items
to the public. See a list of some below.
Militaria
sellers attend some of the larger re-enactment events around the
country, such as War & Peace Show and Detling in Kent, Foxfield Railway
in Staffordshire, East Lancs Railway in Lancashire, etc. People
who sell 1940's period civilian clothing and items can also be found
here.
There are also a number
of these militaria sellers who now have websites. Below is a list
of some from whom our members have purchased items.

Another good place to look for items is on the internet auction site
eBay - although you should be very careful not to pay too high a price
for some things!
