EVENTS DIARY
The
table below lists the events which our members are
thinking about attending in 2009. Sometimes our
members will be split between two or even more events,
depending on which is nearest to where they live or
personal preferences.
Sometimes we may
substitute an event for another if our members wish to
do so, or if an event organiser offers to pay costs
towards our attendance for a
specific display.
Events shown in RED are events which we ask our members
to make all effort to attend.
Check this page
regularly for updates.

IMPORTANT NOTICE:
Some steam
railway museums have decided to start charging re-enactors to go on
trains at their events. We think the fairest option is that
for groups like our's who are willing to mount static displays for
the public to see, those members taking part in displays or other
scenarios at events should be allowed to receive free entry/travel
passes.
Re-enactment is an expensive hobby. Not only do our members
buy and maintain their own collections of clothing and equipment,
they usually transport themselves, their clothing, equipment and
memorabilia to events around the country at their own expense.
And with petrol prices being what they are at the moment, this
amounts to a considerable sum!
Many of our members have supported events over the years, when those
events were often just getting started and needed re-enactors like
us (who are prepared to give up their weekends and offer their time free
of charge) in order to get events established and pull in the
crowds.
Therefore, if any organisers expect us to come to their event and
pay for the privilege of doing so, we are sorry - but we get more
than enough invitations every weekend to go elsewhere.
Alternatively, you are also entitled to entice us to your event with
the offer of payment or free food if you really want to persuade us
to attend your event one weekend rather than someone else's.
