Marriage/Children Information

Hiram Elliott, son of Ernest Elliott and Mary Ann Evans, married Ada Clegg, daughter of Henry Clegg and Sarah Hacking, on August 15th, 1891 in the Primitive Methodist Chapel, Smith Street, Rochdale, Lancashire, England. The witnesses were George Brierly and Harriet Poplur - William Wilcock carried out the ceremony.


Hiram and Ada had 12 children:-

  • Minnie Elliott born January 24th, 1892; died May 24th, 1990 aged 98.
  • Hiram Elliott born July 14th, 1893; died May 21st, 1980 aged 86.
  • Florence Elliott born c.1895; died May 3rd, 1986.
  • Alfred Elliott born July 1st, 1897; died 1988.
  • Harry Elliott born November 6th, 1898; died August 26th, 1977 aged 78.
  • Rhoda Elliott born December 18th, 1900; died July 7th, 1992 aged 91.
  • Ernest Elliott born November 8th, 1901; died May 26th, 1965 aged 63.
  • Sally Elliott born c.1903; died May 1974.
  • Constance Elliott born November 24th, 1904; died May 15th, 1987 aged 82.
  • Ada Elliott born December 15th, 1905; died August 16th, 1994 aged 88.
  • Winston Elliott born c.1910; died March 17th, 1986.
  • Alice Irene Elliott born February 25th, 1911; died March 18th, 1995 aged 84.
