"B" Walk Sun 22nd March 2009
(On Explorer 241 Map.)

Leader Bob Stanley.

We started the walk on the Colemere CP. which is 2miles south off Welshampton Shropshire, it was a dull but mild day with the sun showing at times during the day.  Fifteen members attended Sue, Lorraine and Marion and twelve men.
We set off north to the east of the mere to join the Shropshire Union Canal following it for two miles to Bettisfield Bridge taking morning break on Cornhill Bridge before leaving the canal going south.  During break Bob showed us a thirty year old hand drawn map he used  when he first did this walk all those years ago.  We moved off south another two miles to Northwood where lunch was taken in the sun on the village green before moving into the Horse and Jockey Inn for liquid refreshments.
(5.5 miles).  We discussed my aches and pains since reaching 70  (I'm not telling you what they are.) over a good pint of Adnams Ale.
After lunch we set off east along the road to Top House taking the footpath south to Pinfold Farm on to Wolverley going SE. towards English Frankton taking the track going  north just short of the village.  We were heading home now going towards Lyneal Village, we took afternoon break at the next suitable spot  which was a ditch, we had a good laugh talking about Bobs painful knees which he says he got playing in the Sentinel Cup in the 1950's.  Its not far now up into Lyneal then west down the road back to the cars.  It was a a good days walking lead by Bob one of the longest members of the club we all give thanks for such a good day.
