More About Me

I was born in Oxford, England and have lived in Berkshire for 33 years. And although I contracted Polio when I was about 13 years of age, I have led a very active and successful business life. I qualified as an Electronics Engineer with a degree from the City University in London and went on to join Ferranti Ltd until it went in to receivership in 1994. Eventually, the company was purchased by GEC Marconi and then subsequently became part of BAe Systems and more recently Thales.

I went to St Aubyns Preparatory School in Woodford Green Essex, then to Chigwell School, also in Essex, before attending the City University. I am registered at all three at Friends Re-United.

I retired at the end of 1998, at which time I was working for Thompson Marconi Sonar Ltd (TMSL) which was part of the GEC Marconi group, but subsequently it has been restructered into the Thales Group.

Parts of the old Ferranti Company still exist around the world of which Ferranti Computer Systems in Holland is one.

My interests have always been Gardening and DIY. Today, I still spend many hours in the garden, but less on DIY.

I have recently devoted a lot of my spare time to local organisations and Charities.

Amongst these are the Warfield Parish Council, the Berkshire Disabilty Information Network (bdin) and the British Polio Fellowship

I have also taken up an interest in Digital Photograhy and Web Site Design.
