JD Wetherspoons, the british chain pub, recently opened a bar in Belfast and when we heard their discount drink offers, we were a bit sceptical to say the least. Fortunatley though, all the rumours were true. From 2 - 8pm, 7 days a week, most drinks are £1, pints, bottles and spirits included. They also do loads of cheap meal deals, from £3 upwards.

With most things of this nature though, there is a catch. There is no music played in the bar, there are no TVs, (hence no sport coverage), and it closes at 11.30pm. This is a small price to pay though when you consider the money you save on an average day out. If you're heading out early or have reason to be drinking mid-day (you can always make one up), then this place is a dream come true. We hope this is the shape of things to come!
