The Botanic Inn
23- 27 Malone Road, Belfast, 028 90 660460

Affectionatly known by all as the 'Bot', this place has more myth attached to it than the Loch ness monster. On arriving to Belfast as a fresher, this is one of the first pubs you hear good reports about. And to be honest, we're not sure why!

It usually has a queue at the door that wouldn't look out of place in a U.N. dinner hall in Somalia, and this is one of its major drawbacks. There seems to be a new craze of queuing to get into pubs in Belfast, and to be honest we're confusde by it. Clubs...Yes, Pubs.....No!. The night we went, we counted 7 Robbie Williams songs. Obviously the word 'overkill' meant nothing to the DJ. If you like your bars heavily crowded, your music cheesy and enjoy standing all night, then by all means come here.

Verdict: Crowds dont always equal a good time, but not a bad pub for sunday lunch.
