RELEASE

Alkema (drums)

Stringfellow (bass)
Duncan
Walters (vocals/guitar)
Driven
to
Collision formed
in Brighton in 2002. Nigel and Duncan had gigged under various guises (Sonatone,
Slacker, The Method) before recruiting drummer Jan Alkema. Jan
previously drummed in Compulsion and
then China Drum, latterly known as The
Drum (whose 1999 album Diskin is a
recognised underground classic).
One
of Slacker's earlier drummers was Tom White (The Electric Soft Parade). When ESP released their single Things
I’ve Done Before in 2003 the B-side was a song called Summer’s
Slow Meander, written by Nigel and Duncan in 1999. The bands still
maintain close links.
Driven
to Collision mine at
the same musical coalface as the likes of Sonic Youth, Mudhoney, Fear, Foo
Fighters, The Afghan Whigs and Fugazi. File under: extremo/hardcore/punk.
The
band’s first EP
features the tracks Invialism,
S.S.V, Dusted and Surface Noise.
It’s now available on request via the website www.driventocollision.com and at selected record stores.
D2C
will be gigging in July – details to follow (or on website). Their gigs are
brief, incendiary, and very loud! One punter described the D2C
live experience as “…precision riffing, but slack as f**k!”
Come on
in – the water’s icy!

2006
It's tough in the world of
the 'fuck-up'. Band have nearly completed mastering and got together
last week to rebuild the noise. D however has taken another dive into
the burning sun and now resides in what used to be called an 'asylum'
(or 'institution' if you prefer suicidal t's).
Jan and Mikey on day visits
with boiled sweets and dirty hot porn to keep D's spirits up.....
Band have not disbanded and
will return, watch this or myspace or stare into space. Will talk
again.... thank you for believing. posted Oct 06.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Band officially agree to three month (black) sabbatical, will return to
the duties of D2C in September. D will continue to keep world abridge of
his turbulent terrors via myspace. Janski heads for studio to finish
mastering work on third ep with JC. Mikey continues to work away in
dimlit basement dreaming up next cover concept, see pic for sneak
look.. .
Ramble on..... end of totp, like who cares? not you. Be brave, be
strong, just carry on. Smash your head on the punk rock until it breaks
open and your thoughts run out all over..... Originality ain't dead it's
just being over marketed, don't listen to it, make your own noise......
leave something behind.....feted June 06 x
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet another huge gulf of silence.
The band complete their third EP entitled
'death to intolerance' - just some mastering left to do. D
struggles against the odds, band on the brink of calling it quits but
will have sabbatical instead.
This bizarre website will soldier on
relentlessly... check out another half-baked D2C idea at
www.myspace.com,
just search for driven to collision and add your own words etc...Still
fighting against the overwhelming destroyers of the creative.
If you can find them - support our new
no.1 favourites 'shitfaced' a mean japanese punk band
(cover of their song 'drunk and pogo' appears on third EP)... Love to
live to loathe you.....
Still at our posts, fresh ammunition
loaded - May 2006.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Recording halts to allow the D's voice to
recover, will this madness ever end.... Band limber up for gig at
pressure point, ho hum it's a live party fun type thing!
Jan fliers his neighbours to halt the
relentless HGV intrusion near young 'uns (you get me). Mikey resigns to
return to old D2C stylee, new web design went down like a nun in a
...... (make up your own perverted end you freaks)..
See ya! .....parted March 2006.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Band continue to work on third ep,
tentatively entitled 'death to intolerance'.
Lotsa fun being had by all. D holding
back due to a bout of the flu. Website has had a revamp mmmm not
sure......
See you at end of March at PP, just
stayin' alive.... posted Feb 06.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Another delayed entry - that's the result
of too much festive fun......
Band attempting to maintain some kinda
rehearsal schedule whilst staring into the mouth of madness - believe me
we ain't joking on this one......
Janski continues his vigilante blows
against the empire - this puppy's going global now, bite on that Mr
president. Mikey continues to tinker with the world of blogs (why?)
check it here -
http://driventocollision.blog.co.uk/main/.
D is livin' on the hedge. Band to book
recording time in Feb, gigs in March? D2C issue disclaimer disavowing
any responsibilty regarding any past, present or future actions by D
that may adversely effect any fellow humans in the next 28 days.....

Apologies for the delay - in this entry you get two
months for one. Gig at PP goes well, D slips to 4
due to physical difficulties and challenges of
balancing vocal duties with demands of mastering the
redneck shuffle of D2C. Second ep now released,
available from band direct or various miscreant
record outlets. Received warmly - likened to black
sabbath meets sonic youth in tales of love and
war... Updates on website under construction - so
apologies in advance for any further delays or
broken links. Band merchandise coming soon. Missed
you... posted oct / nov 05
Autumnal
fires and fading trees, leaves of gold and browns,
widespread global meltdown and continued mindless
terror in nations everywhere.... so business as
usual for the collision. Band secure new rehearsal
space in the bosom of ground zero (new name soon -
will let you know). Mikey has new GI haircut, Dunc
stays his hand at 5. Janski demands heads roll -
will EP2 ever see the early morning rays of the cd
laser's dawn? Band hyped for gig - see you there -
new tune to launch at you .... shutdown... we love
the punkrock..... posted sept 05. hey!! where'd the
pictures go?
August
has been and gone - shit!! stuff moves fast when you
only think slow. Gig at pressure point enjoyed by
sadists only, guitar nightmare and poodle rock
tatastic (guess you had to witness it), 'shitfaced'
goes down a 'shitstorm' - thats a whole lotta shit
in this entry.... Salvation will surely come in
Oct..... EP2 now being pressed (have you heard this
before?) after Jan steps up legalese and threatens
to unleash the D.... miss you , love you, hug you,
squeeze you.... posted august 05.
Bit of a
delay for July - evil alkema on leave from band for
regular 'euro' excursion. no arrests this year just
f**ked aircon and roadrage - asta la vista dudeski.
Duncam clocking upto 6, overdraft on standby.....
Mikey heads east, the chill winds are calling. Live
date confirmed for 18th august at that ghetto of
godforsaken souls, the pressure point.... posted
july...05.
Second
ep now ready. Band resolutely rehearse in
preparation for further recording and gigs in
August. Evil cover by Japanese punk band 'shitfaced'
ready for live debut. New material ready. Duncan
confesses to exchanging fluids with Louise Wener
(years ago when sleeper were a dusty indie
outfit..). Jan continues his quest to become
vigilante of the year. Mikey hears fireworks in his
head and sees red. Aaaah, flamin' June....05.
Band now rehearsing again, will be gig fit in next
2-3 weeks, wat ch
out for next live dates in the summer. In the
meantime try and catch bloodied brothers the colony
at selected live venues. Second EP at pressing
plant, will let y'all know when ready. Duncan now
almost 70% human....but 100% consistently perverse.

Band
remains intact, artwork finished, well, almost!
Release due for April, the rhythm section continue
to fly the flag. Brave news for groundzero, new
record label to be launched and D2C track 'what
gives?!' on debut compilation LP. Look out for new
signings 'elle
milano'

needed? It's all up to the front man as usual......

Is it gonna be different? Hey, your guess is as
great as ours. New member of the collision brood has
