Out-Rage 2002
25 years after the Sex Pistols shocked the nation with their take on the Silver Jubilee,
Punk, the music of the Blank Generation, still holds true, and revamped and revitalised is now celebrating its own Silver Jubilee.
Out-Rage 2002 is a global event to celebrate 25 years of Punk. It was the brainchild of original punk Nick Nasty, to mark the day of The Sex Pistols infamous Thames riverboat trip. More than 100 bands all over the world will be marking the anniversary by playing God Save The Queen or Anarchy In The UK in the most outrageous locations they can find.
Nick Nasty elaborated "There are all sorts of reasons why the bands are doing it, some are anti monarchist, some are making the political point that things haven't changed, and there is still a disenfranchised underclass in this country who are largely ignored, some are doing it for charity, and some, simply to celebrate the music – real music"
There will be Out-Rage 2002 events across the Midlands, on or around June 4th, but due to the unusual nature of the gigs, details to be confirmed via the website closer to the time. Visit www.june4th.cjb.net Any band wishing to add their own event should contact Nick_Nasty@ntlworld.com
