This piece appeared in the Spring Guild newsletter This year the annual general meeting
was held at Kettering. Attendance was lower than previous years but those
who were there had an opportunity to ring on the newly re-hung twelve.
Ringing consisted of methods for all abilities and many learners benefited
from the more experienced ringers. After the first bit of ringing there
was then a short service in the church, followed by dinner in the hall,
provided by the Kettering caterers in their usual high standard. Many
thanks to them, and all the other people who contributed to organising the
meeting. The meeting itself was one of the shortest on record, partly due
to not much happening; but also the introduction of Meeting Bingo kept
people quiet, as they concentrated on every word that was said in case it
could be ticked off on their sheet. |
